Tractor Supply ends ‘woke’ DEI, climate change policies after boycott campaign

66 Comments A major farm supply retailer said it will eliminate DEI roles, end its carbon emissions goals and cut ties to an LGBTQ advocacy group following a social media campaign calling for the firm to revoke its “woke” policies.

Tennessee-based Tractor Supply — an 85-year-old company with 2,250 stores — made the decision after conservative commentator Robby Starbuck called for a boycott over the past three weeks on X.

“We have heard from customers that we have disappointed them,” Tractor Supply said in a statement on Thursday. “We have taken this feedback to heart.”

The retail chain — which sells home improvement equipment, livestock, and agricultural supplies for farmers and pet owners — said it will stop sponsoring Pride festivals and cut ties to LGBTQ advocacy group Human Rights Campaign.

It will also “eliminate DEI roles and retire our current DEI goals while still ensuring a respectful environment,” the company said.

Instead, Tractor Supply will beef up its support for veteran causes, emergency response agencies, animal shelters, state fairs, rodeos and farmers’ markets, the company said.

Once you jump on the woke bandwagon, you’re not allowed to jump off.

The owners were already woke and haven't changed at all. They just tore off their masks, threw them on the ground, and stomped on them - showing who they truly are.

Good riddance. May they close their doors forever.

I have a positive reaction to this. The company paid attention. I’ll let the company know I approve.
Having a negative reaction to the backtrack is the leftist position.

BTW - this looks on the surface like a stockholder idea. Leftists use media to coordinate stocks buys so they can push their agendas. I don’t know of any conservative groups who do that.

Why did the board hire a CEO from Macy’s who knows absolutely nothing about his customers or the product line they sell? Why did the CEO hire a woman with little experience and from McDonald’s as VP of people there to be head of dei and all that rot? Shareholders should demand a house cleaning of the “C-suite”.

Starting a decade and a half ago, I noticed companies having a harder time filling such key roles as CEO. I'm convinced that, like many jobs, it's a position where the person who has the ability to do the job also has options to do other, less aggravating things. CEOs are not paid well for the job they do, they're paid well to keep their mouth shut - forever.

Historically, it likely worsened when korporations took over companies from private owners and high-level positions, especially C-suite positions, became ruthlessly mercenary. Decades ago a CEO was one who worked their way up the ranks.

The more publicity this gets the stronger is the message to the other woke corporate Libs. who are peddling the Marxist crap. We should single out one of these woke DEI corporations each week for this kind of concentrated treatment. I understand that corporate CEOs are already nervous about their DEI programs. They need to be pushed along to ditch the Marxist stupidity.

Good prices on some things but about 20% higher than most on everything else. Their advantage is having so much rural stuff in one spot.

Shouldn’t have had the policy in the first place, to be removed.
