Alan Cumming has declared that the 2003 X-Men movie X2 is 'the gayest film that I've ever done.'
The Scottish actor and television personality followed up by adding, 'And that's me saying that,' during the conversation to promote his reality competition series The Traitors.
'It's got a queer director, lots of queer actors in it,' he said while making his case to Entertainment Weekly. 'I love the fact that something so mainstream and so in the comic book world is so queer.'
He went on to explain, 'I think, in a way, those sorts of films really help people understand queerness, because you can address it in an artistic way, and everyone is less scared of the concept.'
'It's an allegory about queerness, about people having these great gifts and really great, powerful things that they have to hide to exist,' Cumming, 59, added. 'Queer people understand what that's all about.'
In the film Cumming plays Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler, a bright blue mutant with the ability to teleport himself and others instantly from one location to another.

Go away Alan
It’s getting to the point that the only STUNNING! And BRAVE! in a super hero movie is the actors sex lives and the agenda of the movie.
They're comic book movies based on comic books for comic book readers. I never saw the attraction. I did enjoy Logan which was basically a remake of Shane...
And this will flop.
Not gonna watch it. Am sick of queer sh*t.
No matter what you do on the stage
Keep it light, keep it bright, keep it gay!
Whether it’s murder, mayhem or rage
Don’t complain, it’s a pain
Keep it gay!
I get your point.
For me it all looks a little bit like a commie cold war era poster. The commies always made sure to have all the various ethnic people present in most of their posters since the Soviets were made up of various groups.
We do the same crap today, only by race, sex, and of course the blue/green hair now needs added too. Just look up any federal agencies recruitment posters and look under images. It’s funny-
Thanks for the warning, I’ll pass
Queer, queerness, and really great powerful things they have to hide?! Fruitcake...
It's been going on for decades:
The Bay City Rollers:
Abba:
The Village People:
The Village People were kinda obvious.
delenda est...
Personally, I always liked the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy as my favorite superhero movies.
Yup. The X-Men have always been a stand-in for any group on the “outside”, especially ones that get targeted for violence. Jews mostly to start with, being created mostly by Jews that lived through WWII. But every X-Man writer has always talked about the “any group” aspect. This became more so when Chris Claremont took over in the 80s and really cranked the Sentinel Wars “let’s kill mutants” plotlines cranked into over drive. He straight up said gays were in the list of outside groups the X-Men represented.
In hindsight maybe but they toned it down for their television appearances such as "YMCA" on American Bandstand or their "In The Navy" ad for the U.S. Navy.
Frankie Goes To Hollywood, was pretty obvious.
They showed the “clean” version of the “Relax” video on MTV.
Its got a whole coven of communist space lesbians who are making babies without fathers, with two women instead.
The third episode aired last week and it has broken the fandom
“Queer” is just a BS term made for people who want all the benefits of being gay but don’t take it up the rectum.
And Hollywood wonders why movie theaters are closing down right and left
