Historic news as 400 Russian soldiers have surrendered in central Vovchansk, the largest mass surrender of the entire war on the Russian side. These Russian forces were encircled at the chemical plant and for only 2 days held out until the surrender from today.
Russian forces in the city are now seriously crippled with the loss of half a BTG. Meanwhile Ukrainian drone attacks continue to drive home damage into the Russian federation, as Russia takes high losses with very little gains.

After reading about his deadly mission here, and looking at what happened subsequently to the Kennedy men who were politically active, I find myself wondering if the premature explosion might have been planned. I have heard that their father who was serving diplomatically in England was not well liked by some powerful people.
Old Joe Kennedy could well be called "pro-Nazi" in the sense that given a choice between Nazism and Communism, Kennedy would choose Nazism as the lesser evil.
Kennedy believed Germany would defeat Britain and clashed with FDR over FDR's anti-Nazi policies.
So Old Joe was replaced as ambassador in November 1940 and later blamed FDR for Kennedy's son's death over the English Channel.
Old Joe's feelings toward Germany give special poignancy to Pres. Kennedy's June 1963 speech in West Berlin, whose most famous line was Kennedy saying, "Ich bin ein Berliner".

Spherical doughnuts with a filling of jam (or sometimes custard or lemon curd) are also popular in Poland, where they‘re called pączki, and iirc they are very popular in the USA, too, especially among Americans with Polish roots.
In the dialect of the Palatinate, where President Trumps forefathers came from, they are called „Kreppel“ (singular and plural), though this term is now considered obsolete in Standard German 😀
A Polish friend once laughed when I told him about this, and he said that Old Polish used the exact same word, because the custom of preparing deep-fried foods on Fat Thursday, when all fat in the house had to be used up for Lenten fasting, had been introduced to 10th century Poland by German missionaries.
