Joe Biden is ready, willing and able to handle a second term as president, his wife insisted Friday — despite the 81-year-old chief executive freezing up during a Juneteenth celebration and wandering away from G7 leaders at a summit in Italy this week.
“We can’t wake up on November 6 like we did in 2016 terrified of the future ahead of us,” Jill Biden told a crowd of seniors at a Reno, Nevada, pep rally.
“This election is about the character of the person leading our country,” the first lady said.
An estimated 600,000 seniors live in Nevada, nearly one-third of the 1.9 million eligible voters in the Silver State.
Recent polls have shown former President Donald Trump, 78, up by five points over Joe Biden, who won the state in 2020.
The first lady, who jetted back from Europe to catch the end of son Hunter Biden’s felony gun charge trial earlier this week, kicked off the “Seniors for Biden-Harris” whistlestop tour with events in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Duluth, Minnesota, Thursday.
The campaign is hoping bingo and pickleball events, rallies and phone banks will send the older voting demographic to the polls in support of a candidate who would be 86 by the end of a second consecutive term.
“Joe Biden is a healthy, wise, 81-year-old, ready and willing to get to work every day to make our future better,” Jill Biden, 73, told the Reno audience, echoing similar stump speech remarks in Duluth.
She said, “Joe isn’t just one of the most effective presidents of our lives, in spite of his age, but because of it.”

If Joe collapses on the stage and does not recover, would there be an autopsy that would disclose any uppers? And, of course, would that autopsy ever see the light of day?

Yes, the debate could prove interesting. I was surprised to see in the local news that Jill was here in Reno, following Joe’s footprints and not holding real campaign events, just private gatherings. I wonder if she had a larger audience than Joe?

I think you are correct. In his lucid moments Biden is able to draw on nearly 50 years in Congress. In his current state, it’s too easy and dangerous to dismiss him.
I think Jilly mean Jo Jo is a “wise ass”.
Notice she conveniently left out the “wealthy” part of “healthy, wealthy, and wise” to avoid scrutiny.
Remember when we had a week of media coverage over Trump walking gingerly down a rain-slickened ramp? CNN and MSNBC had so-called “medical experts” on their shows (sometimes in panels of three or four) to explain why Trump’s careful steps were signs of physical and mental impairedness.
Now, they have practically the same experts telling us that Joe Biden’s actions are perfectly normal and we are the ones mentally impaired. Biden is losing it and getting worse daily. Even the carefully controlled media interactions can no longer cover up those facts.
Will the debate go on as scheduled? Are there enough drugs to help him get through a 90 minute debate even with the help of Jake Tapper? Will Biden actually appear or will it be a body-double? I wouldn’t put anything past them at this point.
Whenever I see a video of Joey it reminds me of two Stephen Lynch songs: “Special Ed” and “Grandpa”. Nuff said.

Exposing liberal insecurity.
Its all about maintaining THEIR control. Any loss of that control, even temporarily, is terrifying to them. It also explains why they so desperately want to expand government in order to solidify their power and control.
Trump truly represents an existential threat to liberal insecurities. That's why they are so unhinged, just as Dr Jill intimated.

Trump did not lose a debate with Biden. In fact, Biden was rude and very disrespectful.
Indeed. My sister worked for the local newspaper - a nationally known publication - and word came from on high that Jill Biden was always - ALWAYS! - to be referred to in print as Dr Jill Biden, even though previously that honorific was strictly used with MDs (PhDs were referred to as PhDs). But hey, even Whoopie Goldberg said Dr Jill would make a great Surgeon General!
