Actress Goldie Hawn weighed in on the pervasiveness of crime in Los Angeles, revealing that her own home has been burglarized twice in four months.
The 78-year-old made the comments during an appearance on the SiriusXM podcast “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa.”
“What if we couldn’t live in L.A, where would we live? We both decided, I think it’s Palm Desert (California). … It’s so safe,” Hawn told Ripa of herself and Kurt Russell, her longtime boyfriend of four decades.
“It’s just because L.A. is terrible. I mean, we were robbed once,” she added.
Hawn went on to describe what happened the first time her home was burglarized. She said she and Russell were out of the house for just two hours before coming back home to discover what happened.
“We came back and went in the house. I went up to the stairs and I walked into my closet. I just lost it,” Hawn said. “They had broken in from the balcony to our bedroom, our closets.”
She continued, “And they completely knocked down my door, which is a safe door, so they’re very, very sophisticated, and they got a lot of my goodies, if you know what I mean.”
The Academy Award-winning actress said she assumed it was something she would only experience once, but that wasn’t the case. “So, I’m thinking, ‘Oh, my God, so the chances are, I guess that’s it,'” Hawn told Ripa. “It’s gotta be. The odds are that’s not gonna happen again.”
But then, four months later, that’s exactly what happened. The actress said she was home alone with her dog when she heard a noise.
“I hear this big thump upstairs — and I was alone; Kurt wasn’t there — and I went, ‘What the hell was that?'” she explained.
“It was just like, was that a sonic boom? Did somebody jump somewhere? And as it turned out, the next day, we discovered that they were trying to get in my bedroom while I was in the house.”
“That’s terrifying,” Ripa replied.
“I couldn’t believe it. What is happening here?” Hawn said, adding that she has had additional protection since the incidents. “I’ve had a guard, especially when I’m alone now,” Hawn said. “I’m never without a guard. We have a nice relationship with our guard.”
LA isn’t terrible. The CRIMINALS who broke into YOUR home are terrible. Since they weren’t caught or discontinued, they’ll do it again (not necessarily in your home).

Goldie has to learn to live with the burglars. It’s the new law of the land, as decided and determined by the DAs in liberal cities/states/counties/areas.
Those burglars need to make a living too, especially when they’ve been victimized by law-enforcement and regulators and legislatures and the culture.
So, Goldie, help them out, and in fact, leave your doors and windows open, so that these victims of society do not become stigmatized by arrests and people looking down on them. Democrats will thank you and perhaps even feature you on their preferred TV and radio shows. You might even get an award for having a big heart.
I don’t know if they still own it but they have had a lake cottage in the Muskoka area of Ontario for a long time. A lot of rich Americans do apparently. Kurt and Goldie are well known up there as long time locals so they do have more than one place as again many wealthy do. Years ago she was quoted as being surprised that some Canadians could be rude as she thought they were all polite. Maybe she just likes to complain. :)

Someone should tell Goldie that her defund the police attitude is largely to blame. But never worry, she can hire her own private security. Oh, what? She has. Well, sorry about that Goldie.

Kurt Russell made a statement he wanted to be buried here while he was in Tombstone shooting the movie ‘Tombstone”. Problem was, you have to own property within the city limits to be buried here. Val Kilmer purchased a small parcel and gifted it to Russell. Russell still owns the property.
Maybe he and Goldie should consider a move here; they’d benefit from our local solutions to home invaders. Of course, there is the small problem of illegals, but for some reason we don’t see them in this area of town. We have backhoes...

We got enough signatures in Ca. to get the idiotic Prop 47 overturned on the ballot these insane legislators have made our everyday lives miserable you can STEAL $1000.00 worth of merchandise with NO CONSEQUENCES!! Businesses are really suffering, EVERY DAMN THING in every store is locked up you must wait for an associate to help you get your product!! I work at Home Depot part time and we are not allowed to even STOP a person if they have less than $1000.00 in the cart they are walking out with, we can take a picture with our phone and file a report with the police ON LINE!! The same damn thief can return the next day and grab another $900.00 haul, rinse and repeat day after day!! I have started using curbside pickup for ALL of my shopping Walmart has curbside pickup MASTERED, it is a pain in the ass to shop in the stores now!! Curbside pickup also saves me a ton of money because I am not throwing extra items into my cart that are not needed!!! Gruesome Newsom is REALLY SHORT on his budget SO the asshat is cutting funding for prisons, police, ect. EVERYTHING that is absolutely needed in our communities right now the bastard is cutting to the bone, HOWEVER all the money going for the care of illegals NOT TOUCHED!!
