Amazing! Everyone you know drives an EV!

” My daughter ordered the same Tesla model about 2 years ago, and she asked for her money back after reading all about that Tesla model.”

Did you give her money back?

Try 20 years, not ten.

Okay, an ICE car can go 20 years in fuel cost vs an EV's cost to 'fuel up' in 10. 20 years sounds a lot better than 10.

Did you figure in maintenance and engine overhaul?

Amazing! Everyone you know drives an EV!

That's a dopey retort.

But, my daughter is well off and owns a multi-million dollar business, and owns 3 houses which she leases out, and the home she lives in is worth about $1.5 million. So, she hardly needs my money to help her buy a vehicle. She makes her own decisions, and makes smart ones. To her, owning a Tesla was going to be a status symbol, but she decided that she doesn't need a status symbol.

So, your dopey conclusion is that, the only people I know is my daughter and the mother of my granddaughters' friend. That's such a dumb conclusion.

The Auto Trader price is snot the final price that people will pay for a used EV, if it’s sold at all.

Did you figure in maintenance and engine overhaul?

The last 3 SUVs that I've owned, had no engine problems at all, and maintenance was no more than oil changes and transmission fluid and tire changes, and wiper blades. All three of them I kept for over 100,000 miles. My current Lexus SUV has all the maintenance paid for the first 8 years, and if engine or transmission have problems, I'll pay nothing extra for repairs.

Most vehicles nowadays don't have the problems that were constant in vehicles that were made 20 years ago or earlier. Then, when the battery goes out on an EV, the cost can be more than the total cost of replacing the engine and transmission of an ICE car at the same time. Face it, an EV is not much more than a huge and costly battery on wheels.

That's an ad; not the final 'sold price'. Try better.

Engine and transmission replacement can run more than $15,000.

If you factor savings in fuel and maintenance costs the EV comes out ahead.

Not an ad. Why do you always misrepresent?

The Kelley Blue Book—and its equally popular website—is one of the most trusted guides for automobile pricing, used by those who are buying or selling cars.

Kelley assesses a wide array of different values to both used and new vehicles. For used vehicles some of them include: Trade-in value, typical listing price, fair purchasing price (CPO), and private party.

Kelley determines Blue Book values by analyzing pricing information from real-world used car prices, as well as industry developments, economic conditions, and location.

” Face it, an EV is not much more than a huge and costly battery on wheels.”

FP&L has a program where you pay ZERO to charge your EV off-peak!

That alone could save a commuter more than $4k a year.

Engine and transmission replacement can run more than $15,000.

Still a lot less than replacing an EV battery. People have given up on their EVs when faced with the cost of replacing an EV battery, which in some cases have been higher priced than the original cost of the entire vehicle.

EVs may have been a good idea at one time, but, they were never a good idea to the pocketbooks, or as replacements for ICE vehicles.

I gave up on Kelley Blue Book when I was looking for used cares, and their prices never matched what I could get for a new vehicle of the same make and model. I actually found new vehicles for the same price quoted for a used car by Kelley. I ended up buying a new Ford Escape for the price that Kelley quoted on the same car used a year. I’ve since never looked on Kelley again.

Not much difference at all considering the battery lasts longer

‘People’ is plural. Please cite data to support your post.

So now she wants her money back because she changed her mind.

Life doesn’t work that way.
