Agree. There are some days/some topics I feel this has become the Daily Kos. There is a declining level of civility even when we agree!
I'm a 20 year member too.
What really shocks me is knowing the average age of members means that it is very likely the people being rude are in their 70s or 80s.

Not sure how long I’ve been here — over 20 years, I think. The civility level has decreased. What I notice more is that there’s a less scholarly and intelligent level to posts overall. (Of course, there are glaring exceptions.)
Back when Tony Snow, Mark Levin, Barbara Olson, etc., were on FR it was more cerebral and less childish.
Just MHO, FWIW.
Agree.
But while that is very unfortunate it probably goes with the nature of public discourse, especially if ego, passion or alcohol is involved.
It was almost refreshing to exchange with a few well-written Obama supporters who argued with intellectual honesty. When one exchanges on FR with someone who claims to be an R or a conservative but lacks that honesty it smells like a troll.
The rules of 'Brainstorming" ought to apply (if only they were well spelled out).
