The state of discourse on Free Republic

In the past couple of years I have noticed there is a complete lake of regard for other posters on this site. Not only that but swearing seems to be tolerated. In the past day I have been called gay, a lair, that I am talking out of my *** and I am full of ****. Do we even have to go into the fighting on any thread about Ukraine or Russia. Even hard facts from multiple sources no longer seem to matter. Instead it is whoever can come up with the snarkiest reply.

Yes, a handful of people have really destroyed FR. Rather than engage in meaningful discussion these few people prefer to insult, name call, and attempt to bully people.

The Trump trolls and their profane tendencies have been what’s led to the recent lack of decorum here in my opinion. While the moderators have often allowed them to abuse others, thankfully the mods haven’t perma-banned those who aren’t 100% on the Trump train, at least not yet. Probably because they know Trump is ~80 years old and hardly a sure bet.

In light of your response to the state of discourse, could you perhaps address the keywords in this thread? They are another perfect example of the point the poster made.

A lot of people seem to enjoy trolling threads through keyword abuse (basically) because it can be done anonymously.
