Wild surveillance video captures the moment a maniac bashed a Queens bike shop worker over the head with a helmet — before he was stabbed by another man who intervened, according to police.
The melee began just before 1 p.m. Monday when the 35-year-old man flew into a rage outside the Fly E-Bike shop on 42nd Street near Broadway in Astoria, authorities said.
Footage obtained by The Post captured the moment the brute – who appeared to have been yelling at the 28-year-old worker – suddenly walloped him over the head with the helmet.
A second later, another man sprinted out of the store and chased the aggressor into the street, the video shows.

“Maniac. . .” does such and such? Could the headline had a different description of the perp? How do they know this guy was a “maniac?’ Did they test him? Was he committed and escaped? Or was this just his everyday behavior?

Not only does the NY Post report crime stories relevant to New York (which other outlets won’t post) - they provide photos of the perps as well.
I read the NY Post every day, along with the Daily Mail which also reports important issues American news outlets refuse to report.
Yep. I was just there. Dirtiest city I’ve ever been in - menacing types hanging out all over the streets and subways, even in the so-called nice areas. Entire city smelled like urine.
How sad. Old photos show it was amazing at one time...

Exactly, I make a conscious decision to avoid places like that. Even local malls with feral yutes, I avoid.
At this point any adjective other than black means… well…black.
