Earlier in 2023, top American lawmaker Rich McCormick, while addressing the US House of Representatives, said that Indian-Americans constitute about one per cent of the US population but pay about six per cent of the taxes. Does it ring a bell?
Interestingly, Indians are the highest-earning ethnic group in the US — ahead of people from countries like China and Japan.
About 4 million Indians currently reside in the US, including 1.6 million visa holders, 1.4 million naturalised residents, and a million are US-born residents.
The median family earnings of Indians in the US is USD 123,700, nearly double the nationwide average of USD 63,922. About 79 per cent of Indians are college graduates, compared to the nationwide average of 34 per cent, according to the report.
In fact, Indians are ahead of all the other ethnic groups in the US in median family earnings ranges. Taiwanese and Filipinos, with USD 97,129 and USD 95,000 of median family incomes, respectively, are in second and third place.
But why? The data highlights that 79 per cent of the Indian-American population in America holds a Bachelor's degree, while the national average is just 28 per cent, surpassing the overall American population in terms of wealth and college education.
In January 2023, Harsh Goenka, chairman of RPG Enterprises, took to Twitter to share a chart that shows Indian Americans having the highest median household income in the US.

That being said, they are hustlers and take advantage of opportunities not afforded to them in their home country.
Bingo.
The Indians have total control of the independent, value priced hotel/motel industry. They do a great job. Generally the best deal in town is an independent Indian operation.
Most come from the higher castes - thus, higher than average IQ.
I’m guessing that would be the Igbo tribe you’re talking about. I went to school with a few of them, they were like the Ashkenazim of south-west Africa, taking education and general excellence very seriously.
Polite, smart, don’t drink, womanize, or gamble.
Who knew that was a possible formula for success? /s
Oh, and delicious food.
So Kamala’s privileged Indian half should be paying reparations to her underprivileged African half.
White American includes Jewish American, Irish American (Catholic), Italian American (Catholic), Polish American (Catholic), Presbyterian, Methodist, Episcopalian, etc. It’s a pretty diverse category and they may not earn the same.

Casinos bring in a LOT of money.
Yes, pretty sure that’s the tribe.
Yeah it’s amazing how in many departments headed by Indians everyone’s last name is either Patel or Desai
Those at the top have preserved their family values. Thus they succeed. They are assets to our great nation.
Patel is mentioned in Glen Gary Ross movie in a derogatory way.

“Shiva handed this guy a million dollars, told him ‘Sign the deal!’, he wouldn’t sign. And the god Vishnu too.”
In 2016, 78% of Asian-Indian Americans voted for Hillary Clinton.
The 2020 poll is behind a paywall.
Good illustration of why traditional national and cultural interests should supersede corporate interests in lawmaking and policy-making.
I worked with many Nigerian doctors in my medical career. Arrogant, arrogantly ignorant, unwilling to accept simple facts like “lidocaine resistance” in a patient screaming during a toenail wedge resection procedure, very methodical, logical, narrow focus/skill set.
DoD is full of them however.
Also don’t get along with Kenyan doctors who I never had issues with but were kinder, slower to judgment, generally easier to understand.
But we are talking generalities here.
And I can’t agree with you more about Big Drug.
Look into the history of US Pharmacy (1890’s), and the payola arrangement between congress, pharma and the institution of the monopoly known as “Pure Food and Drug act of 1906” and it’ll blow your mind.
Imagine one private sector paying congress to pass protectionist laws for removing “choice” of medications and therapeutics from individuals gone wild to the point of FORCING said meds/therapeutics on an unsuspecting, experimental animal model public.
Oh, we don’t need to IMAGINE it, just look at the Covid19 plandemic history.
I retired from clinical care 2-1/2 years ago after an active 30+ years due to neuropathy from antimalarials and complex regional pain syndrome and am fighting the VA now over pain meds and pain management. Fun. If only I could grow my own opium… it’s NATURAL, you know.
Most Indians come here on tech job visas. They’re in the good paying jobs (albeit underpaid compared to prevailing rates), and as they move up, they hire their own.
There aren’t many Indians who come here for crappy jobs. Those are easier taken by blacks, whites, Hispanics, anyone who doesn’t need a visa sponsor.
So with almost zero Indians in poor jobs bringing the average down, of course they’re gonna be at/near the top of the list in average salary. I guarantee if you look only at Indian Indians in those same jobs in their country, that limited average will also be waaaay higher than their overall national average.
I’d bet, except for Mexicans/high-illegal rate countries, most groups of foreigners will have a higher average than the national average. They simply don’t have the quantity of poor to bring the average down significantly.
