The Indians have total control of the independent, value priced hotel/motel industry. They do a great job. Generally the best deal in town is an independent Indian operation.
Gujaratis are a separate nation within the federation of India with a really over (1200+ years old) written language with literature, plays etc. written in that language.
They also have a long history and are at the forefront of the anti-muhammedan movement due to being at the border fighting off (or more often subjugated to) Turco-Mongol empires.
