I understand your perspective, but I think it buys right into Greenfield’s point that “nation-building” should never be a part of counterinsurgency actions. With the caveat that nothing is impossible for God, thinking Muslim preachers can be civilized is a fool’s errand.

You cannot build a nation out of anarchy and chaos. Somalia, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, Rwanda, Libya, Syria just being a few examples.................

The biggest problem in most Muslim countries is that 2/3 or more of their population is illiterate. If you can not read or write or even do basic math then it is hard to build almost anything.
Hence the destruction of the inner cities of the USA. Most kids in the inner cities are basically illiterate and can not do basic math. Except how many bullets go into a Glock.

Venezuela was the second wealthiest country in the Western Hemisphere back in the 1970/1980s. Before Chavez and the socialist/commies took over.
I remember a neighbor had two Venezuelan exchange students back in the 1970s. They taught us how to play “football” (soccer). One taught me to keep me mouth closed when I head butted the ball so that I would not bite my tongue. They were both intelligent young men.
