In the event Hunter is convicted of the IRS and/or Gun violations, is it possible for Joe Biden to pardon him while he is President. It is my understanding both are Federal crimes which the President has the ability to pardon.

Such a thing was discussed during the final days of the Nixon Administration. I think the issue was left unresolved as to whether it was Constitutional or not.
He’ll do it whether it’s legal or not. They appear to be federal statutes broken but local jurisdictions could charge him . . but won’t .

If he issues a pardon, it will be very hard to put a positive spin on it no matter how much the control they media.
He’s got two trials going on. Only the tax fraud was pushed back. The gun trial starts in June.
There is no Constitutional requirement of conviction in order to get a federal pardon, and many Presidents have pardoned people who were never convicted (or even indicted).
However, the standard Federal pardon process, administered by the DOJ Pardon Attorney, is limited to people who were convicted and have completed their sentence. The Pardon Attorney process can provide commutations, not pardons, for those who have uncompleted sentences.
There are some states that do legally limit pardons to people who have been convicted.
Biden can pardon Hunter right now. If he loses he probably will do that.

If there’s any real danger to Hunter, Biden will pardon him before or after the election. He’s arrogant enough to believe he can get away with anything. Even if staff pressures him about election affect, he won’t believe them and will assume any father will be understood to protect any son, especially one left behind after the death of his poor brother. Biden wonders if he ever mentioned that.
There’s no sense of reality in the White House. And they might even be correct about it having no effect. The news will turn Biden into a grieving father who had absolutely no choice after his heartless opponents purposely tried to ruin his innocent son just to get him.

That’s it right there. And Biden can make that pardon all-inclusive. “I grant a full and absolute pardon to Hunter Biden for any and all federal crimes he might have committed.”
I’m not kidding there. Ford’s pardon of Nixon used much the same language.

A pardon will come (if necessary) after the election.
Hunter could be found guilty today, yet appeals and delays would keep him out of jail for some time.
He will wait until the election is over, regardless of the outcome if he pardons his son, it will have no impact on Biden.
It would not surprise me to see Trump play the role of Ford and pardon Biden for the exact same reason the Ford did. Get it out of the way and off the public table.
Think of it! If Biden came to trial publicly, he would play the role of doddering doofus. (Yes, I know not a role but real!) The point is it would be spun as that bad old Trump picking on the poor dementia patient.
Do I think he should do it? Maybe! It depends on how big the win is. (Note I am assuming he wins!) Also, how large the GOP majorities are in Congress and how many of them arrived in DC with balls or if returning incumbents found them.
In short it would be the right thing to do but might not be the political thing to do. Particularly if he wants to get his agenda through. In DC everything is politics, or haven’t you noticed? There would be little political cost putting the Biden Clan in jail and leaving Biden to be free with a drool bucket.
Putting a Prez in jail for things he did while Prez is another thing. perhaps not a precedent we want to establish where it’s without Constitutional impeachment\Senate conviction. Potentially Constitutionally costly idea no matter how right it may look. Isn’t that what they’ve been trying got get Trump on?
Sometimes best to look at the “Big Picture” and let desires for revenge even justice be put aside.
