Sorry, no link as it was just announced on Human Events Jack Posobiec that the Ohio SOS has instructed the Democrat party to announce their candidate by Aug 5th. If they don't, then whoever that candidate is will not be on the ballot

It’s either that or one of their federal prosecutors will arrest the OH SoS on some absurd charge. “Obstructing the President’s re-election by applying irrelevant laws that we only use on Republicans”.
This is weird. The Ohio state law is clear, and has been in force for some time. Democrats had to be aware of it when they scheduled their convention. So either they will declare a candidate before the convention, making the deadline, or they will have to find a way to work around the law, which may be difficult as the Ohio legislature is mostly republican.
Why would they make this problem for themselves? Anybody?

The Democratic Party has refused to follow state law requiring both parties to officially nominate their presidents 90 days before an election. Democrats aren’t doing that until 75 days prior.
And now, since the legislature has adjourned, the law cannot be changed, and Secretary of State Frank LaRose cannot make an exception.

Yes the law is very clear, but you are naive, if you think they won’t get a judge somewhere along the way to order Biden’s name on the ballot.
Should this happen? No, it shouldn’t...
However, I just don’t see any way the Democrat candidate will not be on the ballot in OH in November.
Remember in NJ a while ago now, where the candidate, got caught in some corruption scandal or something and as such was heading for a loss, and the Dems got some judge to allow them to change their candidate?
I will be hard pressed to believe that the Ohio general election ballot will have no candidate listed for the Democrat party for President.
Should it be blank if they don’t name it on time? Certainly.... but will it? Highly doubtful.

Does anyone know the history of the Ohio law? I’m wondering if it’s tied into the longstanding concerns about having adequate time to distribute and receive absentee ballots, especially from military personnel stationed abroad.
Late arriving military absentee ballots have been a problem for many years. The core underlying issue is the simple logistical delay involved in getting ballots to and from Firebase Charlie in West Crapholeistan.
States with late primaries and late dates for finalization of ballots can work a world of hurt. Perhaps Ohio decided to clean up its act.

A distinct possibility, but don’t discount Democrat-controlled swing states suddenly inventing a law (whether it’s passed by the legislature or not) in an attempt to keep TRUMP off the ballot in a tit-for-tat maneuver.
E.g. “Any candidate currently standing trial is not eligible....” or “Any candidate who has been convicted of....” They already tried something like that in the primary, and courts shot it down. But that was just for the PRIMARY election.
Swing states whose election offices are under total Democrat control include Arizona (with its ultra-corrupt SOS), North Carolina, Nevada, Wisconsin and Michigan.
Swing states whose election offices are under Democrat control in all but name include Pennsylvania and Georgia (both of them have Trump-hating, conservative-hating RINO SOS’s).
No conspiracy. Just a technicality and, ultimately, not really that big a deal.
This only prevents the pre-printing of Joe's name on the ballot. It's not a prohibition from even running like some states were doing against Trump.
I’m wondering if as this lawfare extends and the election grows near, will the USSC move with greater urgency/emergency to keep the candidates on the ballots?
August 7th is 90 days before Election Day, not August 5th.
It just doesn’t seem like something they’d allow to happen.
