Prosecco is Italy's answer to champagne—a white sparkling wine that's available from dry to semi-sweet. Prosecco has protected status to ensure quality and is only produced in the Veneto region in northeast Italy. The bright and effervescent wine features flavors of melon, pear, and honeysuckle, and is lovely for toasts, sipping, pairing with foods, and making cocktails. It is relatively low in alcohol.

Not an advertisement, but in the mid-80's I always had a couchette.
I think my wife would like that. I prefer red wines like Burgundy.

I have loved Prosecco from the first time I had a free sip at a restaurant in Positano. Dry, crisp, refreshing, light, low enough alcohol that it doesn’t dull the wits too much. Perfect Italian/Mediterranean drink.
What's the point? Psueudo alcohol??
No it’s real.
It is a light bubbly white.
Ok but get a decent champagne instead.
I would prefer a nice Asti Cinzano.

It’s Italian Champagne. It’s like a soft drink that will get you drunk.
Positano, wonderful place.
But that was all before European cultural suicide.
Sparkling vinegar?
I’m relaxing with a nice glass of rose Prosecco as I type this. Nice way to end an evening.
OR rose :>)
Summer's here, and the time is right...
What? You're making Texans look bad (lol - j/k). It can only be called champagne if it comes from the Champagne region of France. Zonin Prosecco is an excellent sparkling wine from Italy.
Lost Oak Winery in Burleson has in the past made Sparkling Gewurztraminer.
My wife and I just got home from our semiannual jaunt to Fredericksburg. There must be 100+ wineries along SH 290 now. Millions of dollars are being invested in Fredericksburg. Also had lunch at the Altstadt Brewery today: Jagerschnitzel with a liter of their pilsener. They brew their beers in accordance with the German Purity Laws of 1516. Their pilsner reminded me of my favorite German beer, Konigsbacher Pils. Unfortunately, they don't export it, but this version was close enough.
If you find yourself in Driftwood (about an hour east of Fredericksburg), you owe it to yourself to visit Fall Creek Vineyards, Salt Lick BBQ, and La Trattoria Visina (which is next to the Duchman Family Vineyards.
I may have to try one!
Thanks
Just a little too sweet for me
