For a long time I was expecting the Democrats to announce their actual nominee by acclamation at the Convention. Big dramatic moment. Maybe Hillary, or Michelle, or Newsome.

But I think they have a serious problem with ballot printing. I don’t know if it’s logistically possible to change horses this late in the game.

Biden has the primary votes — that’s why his name would be on the ballots.
By the time of the Convention, some states have already printed their ballots. It’s a done deal. I don’t think the name can change at that point. I think Ohio and Georgia already anticipate a very awkward moment because of this.
And between Now and late August, what could possibly justify printing any state ballots with “Fred Smith” as the Democrat nominee? You can’t just wave a magic wand.

Unless he “steps” down. I can see the Democrats telling him that they will arrest him and Hunter and Jim and charge them with everything that they’ve done, unless he steps down. He doesn’t have to be truthful as to why he steps down, just as long as he does.

I wasn’t focusing on a reason. He can step down. He can die. He can be removed. Whatever. I don’t really care “why”.

But I believe laws in Ohio and Georgia mandate that the ballots for the November election be printed on about Aug 9.
And the Democrat Convention is Aug 19. There is no name to print on Aug 9 because the name isn’t chosen until Aug 19. That’s awkward. Of course, Joe has the primary votes so they might finagle something to print Joe’s name on the ballot on Aug 9. But how could they print someone else?

And I think other states may have issues. The simple mechanics of running a national election with some new person sort of picked out of the blue is not any easy thing.

I don’t see how Joe “stepping down” makes it much easier.

Trump and Biden aren’t the point.

The point is to degrade the office and have the voters lose faith in the system of a constitutional republic. Look at those clowns debating! And we will grow to hate our neighbors.

1. The problem is who would the Democrats replace Biden with? That’s been their problem all along. There is simply no way they could deny Heels Up Harris without really pissing off their #1 most loyal constituency - Black Women. They ESPECIALLY could not do so in favor of a White Man like Gavin Newsome. They have no bench.

2. From Trump’s perspective this frees him up even more from his unconstitutional gag order. He can go hog wild violating it now and DARE the crooked Juan Marchan to jail him for it.
