… Bx, a Twitter libertarian and “independent investigator,” recently tweeted about a first date she went on that almost ended in disaster. Or as she wrote, “Last night I was on a first date and at the end of the night he opened my car door for me and my holstered gun fell out of my new purse and hit the road and my Shield Arms mag exploded and sent 9mm ammo flying everywhere, and then we spent the next 15 minutes trying to find all the ammo and the mag spring. Am I getting a second date?”
She added, “Please no judge on the purse carry, I normally carry appendix but I was wearing a dress. Actually, judge me idgaf.” Concerningly, she claims to be a firearms instructor.
Some simps gently ribbed her for dropping a literal gun, joking that she should go to a gun-safety class for her second date, but most were quick to reassure her that it was fine and that “any carry is better than none.”
Many, including Bx herself, were shocked at how the gun fell apart, with Bx telling her followers that she and her date got into her car to examine the gun and try to understand what happened. She explained, “The mag didn’t come out of the gun, there is a mark from where the base plate hit the asphalt right on the pin. I think it just hit at the perfect angle.”
How reassuring!
No word from Bx on whether or not her date is up for round two, although some followers argued that if he was willing to stick around and try to investigate what happened rather than run away as soon as a gun fell out her purse, he’s probably interested in a second date.

Sounds like when it fell out of her purse... it pranged the bottom plate of the mag just right.
1 in a 1000 drop.
Depends on what kind of dress she’s wearing. “Little black dress”? Sun dress? Long red evening gown? Layer cake?
Still... if that guy was turned off... give her my number.
She clearly needs a concealed carry purse. Under a hundred on Amazon. Problem solved.
In addition, neither one matters much, provided it is a rare incident.
I would have suggested maybe a diff mag, after exploring the actual way the firearm was carried, being helpful and all, preferabbly over at my place, or hers.
Wouldn't want a repeat, after all!
Makes a great conversation starter!
No no no, defective mag, defective holster!
I volunteer to drive her to the gun shop for better gear.
Could take days...
.
Wow... had not heard that one before. And yeah, I cannot see it as anything but a slashing mutilating weapon, not useful for anything approaching self defense. And then of course, it brings to mind the Lorena Bobbit thing....
When I was young and enjoyed being in a violent world the straight razor was popular for scarring guys in fights, men who could fight but wanted to mess with the guy they were taking down.
Cross dressers/trans liked it for the dramatics, the scarring, the intimidation, and it can end fights in a dramatic manner by whacking and slashing the head which causes lots of bleeding on the eyes and face.
No one serious about self defense carries a revolver. They belong in museums, not holsters. What she needs is to do a self-assessment about how to properly carry and retain a hand gun.
“Shield Arms”
WTF is that?
Never heard of it.
Your comment could be misconstrued as a sexual double-entendre,

My advice to the guy: If there is to be a second date, take her to a handgun/firearms safety course. Then maybe take her to a gun shop or gun show and get her a proper holster or purse holster.
Otherwise, steer clear as what happened, should never have happened. P.S. You might also suggest she take her handgun to a gunsmith and have it examine it from a safety standpoint.
No to second date, but he needs to send flowers because she gave him a great break the ice story!!
Yeah people underestimate groin shots. Basically an area most ballistic vests do not cover.
B.
LOL!
I don’t think I’d have spent 15 minutes looking for a mag spring and some 9mm
ammo, but other than that - no problem.
Well, your sarcasm assures the likelihood of a misfire.
Maybe we should just gove her a backup?
Hell, if her date was a red blooded man, it should have been a huge turn on! I would have immediately asked her for a day at the range followed by drinks and dinner!😎
PS. Would have also showed her the gun I was carrying!😎😎
