Jimmy Carter's grandson has revealed the 99-year-old former president is 'coming to the end'.

The Georgia peanut farmer and oldest living president has been in hospice care for more than a year after deciding to forego any further medical treatment.

Since then his beloved wife Rosalynn has passed away and he has been living at home with regular visits from his family.

Jason Carter said at a mental health forum on Tuesday: '(My grandfather) is doing OK.

'He has been in hospice, as you know, for almost a year and a half now, and he really is, I think, coming to the end that, as I’ve said before, there’s a part of this faith journey that is so important to him, and there’s a part of that faith journey that you only can live at the very end and I think he has been there in that space.'

“ May he RIP when he dies.”

I plan to rip a long smelly one for all the times we had to camp out in lines to buy fuel

May the Lord take him gently and peacefully.

I never liked his politics, but he seems to be a decent man.

Someone left this comment on DM’s site

“As a Republican, I absolutely respect Jimmy Carter as a man. Not a great politician. But, he is a stellar example of a fantastic human being. That’s probably why he wasn’t a great politician. He has a 100%, spot on moral compass, that is a great example to us all. Sending my heartfelt prayers to him and all his family. Thank you for showing us what ‘loving our neighbor’ really looks like. Thank you for showing the world what a committed marriage really is and can be. “

I agree with this person

First Clinton, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky.”

then Obama “I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby,”

now Biden. “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”

Wilson ranks up there as “the worst”. I don’t have the time or inclination to do it, but it would be interesting to categorize them in more detail rather than just “the worst”.

Long term destruction of America vs. blunders. Wilson and FDR would rank up there for long-term problems. I don’t know enough - but maybe even James Madison.

Ineffectual and forgotten presidents - although they might be some of “the best” as they didn’t do much!

While Carter sure messed things up for awhile (gas lines and high interest rates and the messed up Iran hostage deal come to mind); I would have to learn more about the long-term problems that arose from his presidency. I guess not being able to reuse spent nuclear fuel is one.

It sounds like tbey were effectively asking your permission as close kin, to take this invasive step at sustaining her life a little longer.

It's no comparison. Not even close. On moral grounds alone, Carter is head and shoulders and a mile above Xiden.

"It sounds like tbey were effectively asking your permission as close kin, to take this invasive step at sustaining her life a little longer."

I don't think that was the reason. The nurse administrator had already tried to put the catheter in several times, because by this point, my sister was non-ambulatory, and was wetting the bed. They wanted to insert the catheter to keep her from laying in urine, and them having to regularly move her about in the bed to change the sheets. Without being drugged enough, she wouldn't lie still for them to put the catheter in. And since they were already giving her something to relax her, and keep her comfortable, it only made sense to me, to give her enough to relax her even more so she wouldn't even know what was going on. So when the nurse administrator asked me what I thought would help get the job done, I told them to knock her out, which they did, and the catheter went in easily.

I disagree.

Has everyone forgotten about the story regarding his nephew doing something against Trump (or Rmoney - can’t remember which) (surreptitiously recording him) and Carter full-throatedly voicing his approval?
