Contractors curious about an extension cord on the roof of a Michigan grocery store made a startling discovery: A 34-year-old woman was living inside the business sign, with enough space for a computer, printer and coffee maker, police said.
“She was homeless,” Officer Brennon Warren of the Midland Police Department said Thursday. “It’s a story that makes you scratch your head, just somebody living up in a sign.”
The woman, whose name was not released, told police she had a job elsewhere but had been living inside the Family Fare sign for roughly a year, Warren said. She was found April 23

I got the impression the sign was accessed from outdoors. That she didn’t actually have after hours access to the inside of the market.
There’s a somewhat standard Walgreen’s store design with a huge space above the entryway. It is all enclosed but it always seemed like it would be a cool place to put a little secret area there. Kinda like a bigger version of George Costanza’s under desk nap space.

It said an extension cord ran into "her" space, so she probably had a heater, though I didn't see mention of one.
Probably, although it would probably have been a pretty small one if she was running it from an extension cord. Depends on the circuit and the cord, I suppose.
