Of course, our US MArines also are not what they used to be.

Full of show pieces.

Between the lowered US Marine Corps budget and DEI, we have become very weak.

$900 billion of annual spending on “national defense” couldn’t even keep a bunch of clowns from sacking the Capitol on January 6th.

Break out the popcorn and just watch the empire collapse.

I believe Ukraine funding includes not only military stuff, but Ukrainian civilian agency and Ukrainian retirement funding.

Many former Ukrainian taxpayers have fled the country or have been killed in action.

The EU (and USA) could collect Ukrainian taxes from Ukrainian refugees to help fund the Ukrainian government.

“$900 billion of annual spending on “national defense” couldn’t even keep a bunch of clowns from sacking the Capitol on January 6th.”

If the location of a target is known, a mortar shell can be dropped on it.

“Break out the popcorn and just watch the empire collapse.”

The US monetary system will collapse. The US will linger on. I was at a Burger King yesterday. One combo meal was nearly $15.

Aid to Ukraine is a tiny share of the budget and it goes to a worthy cause.

Killing Russians and destroying their army.

That needs to be done anyway and the way it works now is Ukrainians paying in blood to make that happen. Works great for them too because Russians would torture, murder and enslave them and steal their children if they had a chance.

If Russians were to win then we’d just have a bigger Russian problem because they’d have all of Ukrainian resources for their next invasion.

Russians need killing and their army needs destroying because they’re just evil.

Geez, those twenty year old women have more medals than Chesty Puller earned in 5 wars and nearly forty years of almost continuous combat service in the USMC

That’s the kind of thing I would have been posting if the internet and FR existed when I was 12.

When you want to push “black is white, white is black and the King has the most marvelous clothes” then you’ll need extreme sophistication in bad faith arguing mixed with lies.

A 12-year-old can’t do that.

Ukraine ping

As a % of the 1941 American economy, the US sent 7% per year to Russia during WW2. Russia was one of the Axis powers that started WW2, switching sides against Germany only after it was invaded in 1941. That 7% is 2x the 2024 defense budget allocation. In 1941, it was 7x the annual prewar US military budget. By comparison, aid to Ukraine as a % of the US economy is under 1/4%. In other words, relative to the US economy, aid to Russia during WW2, a former ally of Germany, that, like its Teutonic counterpart was sworn to world conquest was almost 30x the current aid to Ukraine.

That vast disparity in aid sent is one reason Russia advanced against Germany, while Ukraine is stalled against Russia. Another key factor was the hammer blows struck against Germany by the Western Allies though a systematic effort to raze German cities via incendiaries and high explosives, an effort that wiped out 2m German city dwellers. While the atomic bomb came too late to be tested on Germany, the combined death toll from bombing Japanese cities was 50% the number inflicted on the Germans.

If a world war ever broke out and those three “marines” were sent out to the battlefield, they would be dead on day one. /spit
