When I first starting writing for Breitbart.com way back in its first year, I was urged by my editors to make sure I carefully researched and documented any information in my columns. I would often insert the verifying link of the videos or newspaper resources to support the charges I asserted in the piece. At that time, I had full confidence in the videos I used as proof that supported the claims I was writing about.
It is now 2024 and I have found that thanks to the technical advances in media manipulation, nothing is credible anymore.
I have already written about the danger of AI (artificial intelligence) being used to create misinformation for political purposes, but AI is now being used at an alarming rate to scam the elderly and rob the gullible of life savings. What made me cognizant of how terribly advanced the technology is was by trying out an animation app that my grandkids suggested I try.
What started as Photoshopping photographs has morphed into wholesale deliberate larceny and corruption. The app I tried was called Dance Face but there are plenty of animation apps available for anybody to download. One downloads a photo and the app animates it to dance.
I did so and was shocked at the way my photo changed into a person that shook her head, laughed and grinned and talked a blue streak. This was not me, but if I forwarded the image to my family they would almost believe it was me except that the AI image had perfect teeth and I am now snaggle-toothed. If you are on a social network like Facebook, Instagram or TikTok, do not trust any video you see, especially any that asks you for personal info or credit cards.

The latest one I saw was a video of Tom Hanks promoting a dental plan, but fortunately, Mr. Hanks went on several talk shows warning that his AI image was being used and he was not endorsing any dental plan.
Celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Garner, and others are being used to promote giveaway items like mixers and cookware for free. All that’s required is a small shipping fee but the advertiser then has the customer's credit card information.
Keep the faith y’all! I solemnly assure you that EVERYTHING you read here on FR is 100% absolutely truth. Seriously!
Everything in the “search engines” is fake too, filtering out anything that doesn’t align with the official narrative.
Thanks for posting. I will use this as evidence to convince my wife that was NOT me in those porn films. I feel vindicated.
Then everybody clapped.
What all does the writer consider is “social media”.
Is American Thinker and this venue right here NOT part of “social media”.
Is everything on American Thinker and everything here “fake”.
Was the writer from American Thinker an AI robot?
If it weren’t for it being the one place to meet with my old classmates, former students, and friends, I would quit Facebook for something very similar to this. Every time I post a response in a public forum, within a few minutes (sometimes a few seconds) I begin to get “likes” and replies across the board, up to a dozen at times, from an AI-created cougar telling me how wonderful I am and how she really would like to talk to me. This requires that I go through the blocking process, then removing any messages I can, just to rid my profile of the scam. It’s very bothersome, of course.
“believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see” still holds true. even on FR.
Abe Lincoln was right.
the media has bambozzled the voters for decades...they give us the impression that people like Clinton and obama were popular and people voted for them....here we just had the supposed attacks on the Twin Towers by supposedly muzzies and Americans voted in a muzzie?....no way....
I have sharpened my debating skills with the version of AI that I have (Copilot), and have found that it has been programmed to be a defensive leftist...
Your AI was posting Porn? Shame on it.
I know. I know. I swear these AI robots have no conscience.
Whoa sweetie, that’s AI. Why the hell would there be a picture of me holding that generation 1 Optimus Prime Transformer in its original box that sold for $1.500. I am 50 years old! I would NEVER spend that much money on a toy from my childhood! FAKE NEWS!!! Thats100% an AI picture.
Jim is still trustworthy. No videos yet...

The peak of search engine effectiveness for relevant results was probably some time around 2010-2012.
At that point, the change toward promoting sponsored results had already started, but it was still effectively separated>
Since then, sponsors have had their search results integrated into the search results, clouding overall relevance, but here lately it has taken a big turn for the worse, and more-and-more you CAN’T EVEN FIND WHAT YOU ACTUALLY WANT. The amount of shadow censoring, burying, and memory-holing is getting very noticeable now.
Chuck Norris and Musk images are abused everywhere. Just plain images, not even AI. It is so patently absurd.
True that.
But I am slowly learning how to use Microsoft’s Co-pilot to push it to tell the truth. You can actually scold it when it gives a wrong answer, among other things, and add specific web domains that refute Leftist garbage.
There IS some guy you have to wonder about though. Can’t remember his name. Think he had “Tic” or “Tick” in his handle. Gotta be careful with him.

In Facebook,m there are advertisements from well known investors [so they say] like Peter Lynch, Kevin O’ Leary, Catherine Wood and Mohammad El-Erian inviting people to join their chat group to receive stock investment tips.
* It starts with an ad on Facebook or WhatsApp group that they will give stock investing tips.
* once you join the investing group, they will give some stocks mostly Hongkong stocks and show you some profit and some losses, but mostly profits.
* if anybody is showing interest, they keep emailing and try to suck you in the “elite A1” group with investment of tens of thousands of dollars. There is when things starts to get worse really fast.
* in the elite group, they ask you to invest all and they have some insider information this stock would do good and invest even more of your savings and then within a week , you will lost 80% in the first investment itself. They really want your snapshots of your shares and then they make a move. So they keep asking for them. They are so important for them. One day, kaboom, it goes down 80 percent. They keep lying that they also lost money, in reality, they made a lot.
* Then they will say something bad happened, somebody leaked information but the next investment will make up for losses.
* just to show you some confidence they make you 10% profit on the next one.
* Next they will ask you to invest more to recover all your losses by investing in the next stock
* next game over, in the next stock you will lost almost 90% and lose all. They are ruthless and only business. They will keep saying they will compensate .. but do not believe it. The money is gone.
They know exactly how many stocks in circulation from the snapshots you provided them and how to pump and dump the stock. They almost precisely control the stock price to the degree that they can give you a small profit. They keep asking for snapshots of stocks bought and stocks sold based on their recommendation.
