Two police officers have been injured in an incident in Renfrewshire, where a man was seen running with a chainsaw.
A 27-year-old man was arrested after the disturbance on Glasgow Road, Paisley, which also saw a vehicle crash into a stationary police car.
Footage shared on social media shows a man pursuing an officer while brandishing the weapon, shortly after the crash at about 13:00.
Police Scotland said there were no other injuries and there was no wider risk to the public.
Images from the scene show a police car crashed through a garden wall and a dark-coloured Volkswagen with a badly-damaged front.
Another video posted online appears to show a man being detained by several uniformed and plain clothes officers outside a dental surgery.

Mom told me never to run through the house with a chainsaw.
Scottish Chainsaw Massacre
Must have been one of those assault chainsaws..
I am shocked.......They have dental surgery?..................
It’s private, not NHS.
> Mom told me never to run through the house with a chainsaw. <
My mom said the same. But then she added: โIf youโre going to do it anyway, do it in a country where most of the police are unarmed.โ
Well alrighty then!................๐
"Looks like Haggis is back on the menu, boys!"
Yeah, sure, as if his chainsaw is actually gonna start this time. ๐
This is part of the reason millions of young women put off marriage and family raising for years and years.

Brushless Lithium Battery Chainsaw, baby!

Why not both? Electric chainsaw suffers from slow chain speed... but by gum, it always starts!
Back in High School Forestry and small engine class, a class member chased another through the woods with a running saw. Problem is that a chainsaw will slow a guy down quite a bit, he never caught him.
It was entertaining though.
No motive or description of the aggressor, but definitely not terror related.
But when I just need to cut down a couple of smallish trees and delimb them, I go for my 14" Ryobi 40V Brushless.
I don't think I even got out my gas chainsaw last summer after getting the Ryobi. Reminds me that I should get it out this year and run it.
