MOUNT HOREB, WI -- The Wisconsin Department of Justice on Saturday provided an update to the incident in Mount Horeb Wednesday.
In a statement, the Wisconsin DOJ said around 11:11 a.m., a citizen called 911 after seeing a person moving toward Mount Horeb Middle School with a backpack and what appeared to be a long gun.
Officers directed the person to drop the weapon, but the person did not comply. The DOJ said when the suspect pointed the weapon at the officers, the officers fired, hitting the suspect. Despite lifesaving measures, the subject died on scene.
The DOJ said the weapon recovered on the scene was a Ruger .177 pellet rifle.
No law enforcement personnel or witnesses were physically injured in the incident.
Involved law enforcement remain on administrative leave, per agency policy.
The involved officers were wearing body cameras during the incident.
Yep. They’ll have their ‘Come To Jesus’ moment after this.
One bar in the town had a Drag Queen ‘event.’ Mount Horeb, like ALL towns in DANE COUNTY is being polluted by the interlopers from ‘The People’s Republic of Madistan.’
The cancer spreads.
The articles below give some updated information - his name, age, etc. He was a 14-year-old 8th-grade student at the school. Witnesses say he tried to break through a window.
I don't know how much damage a pellet gun can do, but he had some plans for it:

Great finds. Thanks! Our locals are not really doing justice to this story. It’s no different than any other situation we’ve seen, really. :(
It’s the same everywhere with the news. I don’t trust anything I read, anymore. :-(
They published the perps obit the other day. All in all, I think the family did the best they could, considering. Too little, too late.
I didn’t make it a separate post as I don’t think he deserves to be remembered. I haven’t looked at the remarks left on the Funeral Home page - I’m sure some are brutal and probably have been deleted...
The family did a good job with his obit. My sympathy goes out to them.
