Why do people keep trying something that has never worked?
It is shocking to me that the majority of westerners don’t realize that their politicians, news media hosts and celebrities all work for the same master. Even many of my conservative colleagues don’t know how brainwashed they are. I’ve met Germans who were not even aware that the country was divided for nearly fifty years

Ask the people getting paid well to serve the same.
Ask the people getting ~70 years of pay for 40 years of work (”public servants”).
Germany has a ‘mixed economy’:
1.the best of socialism and capitalism for the privileged.
2. the worst of socialism and capitalism for the rest of society.
Well, I hope you now understand without asking anyone.
If Trump Makes America Great Again, companies would have to have factories in the USA and China (and other countries who wish to have sound economies).
In a sane country, working adults would be a majority and would vote for small government.
Therefore, leftists need to import welfare recipient future voters and cause domestic unemployment.
I wonder how long it will be until we have President Barbecue.
It shocking to see just how far Germany has succumbed to the Leftist takeover of their country. With no recognition of the dangers of unimpeded immigration, Islam’s control is on Germany’s horizon. When people are too dumb to respect or even understand their own self-preservation, all hope for them is lost. The Left (Marxism) does this by condemning all aspects of cultural nationalism and then tearing down and destroying all the common bonds that bind people together.

That is going on here as well. While they might deny being communists I know they believe in policies that are even farther left, obvious example is the anti-family trans movement. Even murderous Stalin held up motherhood as an ideal etc.
As another example I have 2 relatives (1 sadly close to me) that have recently been complaining about the evils of profits and how business is at fault for our inflation. Do they even realize how close they are to Marxism I wonder?

Antifa have always been the communists. They were always to the left of the NAZIs by a little bit. And the NAZIs are far to the left of conservatives so you can imagine how much Antifa hates true Republicans.
Europe has groups like ones in the USA that are dedicated to fighting national socialists. But they spend all of their time fighting anything remotely nationalist. and none of their time fighting anything remotely socialist.
what is the result?
european nations lose ever more of their sovereignty, their national identity and their native population while they are ruled by elites who hate them and lay on them every form of onerous burden they can while importing foreigners who hate them as well.
much the same thing is happening in the usa.

I’m skeptical of reports on happenings outside of the USA.
Heck, even reporting inside the US leaves a lot to be desired.
Where possible, I like to validate things.

Candidly, my biggest WHY question is around Europe’s seemingly gone all-in on “climate change” laws while we still have healthy skepticism and opposition in the US. Again, maybe that’s the news obscuring the truth.

Because it is the innate tendency of the European (esp. the inhabitants of northern Europe - incl. Germany, the Scandinavian countries, etc.) to welcome more oppressive govt. oversight and intrusion. It is "in their DNA," so to speak.
That (unspoken) distal goal is best met by agreeing with the (on the surface: laudable) proximal goal of "climate change" laws.
It's the same reason that I - an ardent rationalist and denier of Spiritualism and New-Agism - suddenly embraced Pseudo-Science when it meant that my hated mother-in-law, who had been complaining for years about "geomantic rays" emanating from the Earth in our locality disturbing her health, had to move to the next state, in order to finally escape their deleterious effects.
