1. email receipt
2 text receipt
3 print receipt
now with those three options that bitch door greater always wants to see it but you don't have to show it. Once you pay for it that is your private property.
If they feel you have stole it yes they may call the police but they as in the store better be correct that you stole it because if they were wrong now the customer has a law suit from hell.
This whole situation was not only handled poorly by Wal Mart and the police but the fact this youtuber was punking them and I'm sure the guy knew what he was doing, they both walked right into a major lawsuit.
I had a Walmart security guard come after me for not showing the receipt when I walked past him. I had the receipt under my arm, pointed behind me, as I kept walking. He eventually grabbed the receipt and walked back to the store as I walked towards my car.
Once I put my shoes in the car, I went back to the store to ask the guard for my receipt. He had to dig through the garbage to find it.
I didn’t care about the receipt.
was told they were going to shut them all down soon cuz of theft
i asked if it was the
” 3rd worlders” ?
they said “ yup” !
mind you i live in a very conservative small town that never had any real shoplift problem before joe , ho and co. opened the border wide open
The door checker at my local Walmart knows better than to ask to look at my receipt.
Not surprised he won a law suit because the jury was obviously just as stupid as the kid.
You’re walking out of the store with a TV.. makes sense if he can’t or won’t provide a receipt then any normal person would assume it’s being stolen. Look at California and everyone walking out with $900 worth of product. Guess everyone assumes it’s paid for. Right.
If he paid for it then yes it’s his but you should provide the receipt if asked when leaving.
I must respectfully offer another opinion here. Walmart is a private business. It has a right to set its own rules, as long as they are reasonable. And in this era of massive shoplifting, it’s reasonable to ask to see a receipt.
Some people find that intrusive or insulting. Those folks have a point. Then go shop somewhere else.
Side comment: One thing Walmart needs to do is prominently display the policy on all the entrance doors. Let anyone who doesn’t know, know.
When they ask to see my receipt at Walmart, I’ve always just said, “No thanks.” I keep walking. Never been a problem. They have no right to stop you.
Sam’s Club is different, they’re a “club,” they can stop you I believe but not positive.
You can’t have it both ways.
Retail outlets are shutting down because shoplifting has gotten completely out of hand.
Either you think they have a right to make sure you purchased the items you are leaving with, or you don’t.
If you don’t, be prepared to live in a national “food desert.”
I have never had a checkout problem at Walmart, other than learning to “use a light touch” on the robotic-cash-register-thing.
I ALWAYS am prepared to provide my receipt(s) to a Walmart employee or the local police who happen to be patroling the area/store on some days.
Based on what I’ve seen on other sites, most people using self-checkout do slip a thing or two into their bags before leaving, so holding them for the police is likely a safe bet, particularly if they argue against it.
I bought a huge TV there. Had to show my receipt. No problem.
I used to get annoyed at the receipt checkers, until one day at frys, the receipt checker said, the cashier double charged you for one of your items, lets go get this fixed real quick.
(and they did)
I miss Frys, and wish there was a MicroCenter somewhere near me.
Sam’s Club scans the receipt and several items in the cart. Everyone gets the same treatment. Pain in the butt but not a problem.
if you buy something there, The right thing to do is to show your recept.
Legal or not to ask, just show your receipt and get on with your day.
dont like it? feeling intimidated? feeling its racist? Then You are butt hurt because you are an ass. shop someplace else. Either be nice or stay home. causing a scene Is for babies and karens.
If I wanted to create a little havoc, I’d select the email receipt option and see what happens at the door. I haven’t done that because I haven’t wanted to deal with the possible hassle. Maybe get some $$$ for kidnapping or unlawful detainment because I didn’t have the physical receipt to show. They gave me the option during checkout.
For all those who say “if you don’t like it go somewhere else”, where else?
I’m betting a lot of those receipt-checkers were mask Nazis during the Covid nonsense. You know, those people stationed at the entrances of stores to bark at shoppers coming in about wearing masks.
It was probably a very sad day for those people when the mask mandates ended.
I refused to go to any of those places back then. I still don’t and I haven’t missed them.
Oh really? This is the hill to die on? “I’m a sovereign citizen and I don’t have to show a receipt yada yada yada gold fringed flag ad infinitum ad nauseum.
He never left the store ... how could it be stealing?
Well, that was the first time ever I've had my receipt checked.
She was a real old, real little black lady and the first time I had ever seen her.
I didn't make a fuss out of it but politely told her that was the first time ever. She said "really?" I said yep and walked out.
