The kid actually paid for the TV but would not show the door greeter the receipt.
You all this kid just won a major lawsuit not only against Wal Mart but the police.

Last time I bought a TV at Walmart,
\/
i had bought a 6 pack of t shirts.
i had to get a employee
to unlock the case,
they then put it into a plastic lock box i had to have unlocked at the check out.
a freaking pack of t shirts.
sad. on Wal Mart property and wal mart stores you follow walmart rules.
apparently the definition of a real man on this thread is someone who walks past the store person who wants to verify you paid as the store is doing something reasonable. You are so brave and courageous,
If you’re walking out of the store with a TV in your hands or in a cart with nothing else how do you know it’s not being stolen in a store the size of most Walmarts?
I could put one in a cart, walk around for 10 minutes and go out through 2 or 3 different locations. That would be stealing. Happens all the time in stores. According to you all I’d have to say is I paid for it, it’s mine. The kid was being a dick.
Stop and frisk worked well in NYC. It’s a shxthole now like all cities for the most part.
You get searched at the airport before you get on a flight. You consent to that and they even do body scans.. They’re not even cops.
Ever go through a metal detector? Why not walk around and just say your innocent.
Bizarre thought process...
The local Home Depot has now locked up 90% of their power tools, lawn mowers, weed eaters etc because folks are just walking out of the stores with them. According to you just say it’s mine and you’re good to go.
Ever walk out a store with a bag or cart full and the buzzer goes off because a tag or something sets it off? What do you do.. run? I’m guessing you stop and someone checks the item or receipt or a cashier says your good.
Ever go to a Sam’s club or BJ’S and there’s a guy there checking your receipt and verifying it against what’s in your cart.. you just paid for it’s yours... they have no right?
AMEN
I don’t know why people have a problem with it.

Because some people need something to be annoyed about. That person at the door has to eke out a living too and I’m not going to make their life miserable over a door check. I offer to show my receipt everytime I pass the person monitoring the Walmart exit and I get flagged through 99% of the time. If they want to check the receipt it will add 15 seconds max to my trip. I’m not harmed and I can feel better that I have made their life less stressful.
You’re a sensible person.
(Yes, some seem to thrive on being perpetually aggrieved about something or other.)
I just smile and say have a nice day as I keep walking out the door of non membership stores that want to check receipts.
No way the person actually accounts for what’s on your receipt and what’s in the cart in a second or two and it creates a line of wasted time of people’s lives.
it’s just a joke having a receipt checker at the door. better to bring back all cashiers and have enough open check out lanes and do away with self check if they are experiencing more theft.
“Wal Mart property and wal mart stores you follow walmart rules.”
Wal mart property and Wal Mart stores are in Morgana’s state and will follow the laws of Morgana’s state so Morgana will tell them to “Kiss my ass” when they want to see my private property.
What is the Motto of Morgana’s state?
“montani semper liberi” which translates to Kiss my ass in Hillbilly
“Ever walk out a store with a bag or cart full and the buzzer goes off because a tag or something sets it off? What do you do.. run? I’m guessing you stop and someone checks the item or receipt or a cashier says your good.”
Yes I’ve seen this happen and you are correct honest people stop on spot and look back at the cashier. Usually the cashier just tells them to “keep going” because he/she knows they just paid for that.
it’s an era of massive shop lifting due to stores cutting back on employees, employees goofing off, implementing stupid things in their stores that allow people easier ways to steal, etc.
I actually took the time to press the assistance needed button and tell one store that their self check out gave me back $1 too much, I told them they may wasn’t to check their machine to be sure it’s not doing that more often. the clerk was surprised anyone would be so honest to say they got too much change, I doubt they checked anything. I also tell stores when I see expired food/product on their shelves. They need to do better in many ways and stop treating all customers as potential thieves or they should shut their doors because many of us customers are honest.
Walmart has obvious procedures in place.
If one doesn’t like them, respect their private property and shop elsewhere.
Then after they sell the TV they can escort me out to the car. There are many ways to do it without acting like everyone is a criminal.
Also they can put a huge sticker on the TV box.
And I’d they let me go through self checkout the cashier that is just watching can put the sticker on. But once I pay for it—it is mine and they have no business inspecting me
I never said that anywhere. If I paid for an item, it's mine. Once it's mine, the store has no more authority over the item or me.
Yes, I have walked through the sensors, and yes, they have gone off. I typically ignore them, or glance back for a reaction. I've never been accused of anything.
I've also never stolen anything.
If I paid for an item, it’s mine. Once it’s mine, the store has no more authority over the item or me....
Only if you have a receipt proving you’ve paid for it. That’s what receipts are for, proof of purchase.
Ooh I get excited when you talk rough to me.
