Prediction: Tulsi Gabbard will be the GOP Vice Presidential Nominee
FR ^ | May 2 | RF

Posted on 05/02/2024 9:46:34 AM PDT by RandFan

I'm making a bold prediction today she's got this based on the following evidence:

She's on the list

Donald Trump Shortlist: Tulsi Gabbard's VP Chances Soar

"Tulsi Gabbard's odds of becoming the 2024 Republican vice-presidential candidate surged with a leading bookmaker after Donald Trump said she was on his short list during a Fox News town hall on Tuesday".

She wants it

Tulsi Gabbard ready to ‘serve my country’ as Trump’s vice president if asked

“If that call came, I would say yes, and I'd be honored to serve my country in that way and to be in a position, first, to help win this election, to stop the Democratic elite from destroying our country, and then actually begin the real work of getting our country back on track,” Gabbard said.

“And that starts with having people of courage in our government who care more about the country than they do about the political elite in Washington."

Betting odds reflect her growing chances

She was 35/1 earlier this year now she is 7/1 2nd FAVORITE in the betting to be the GOP Vice Presidential nominee.

For someone who isnt even a Republican to be 2nd Favorite for the nomination is unprecedented.

Her rivals are unimpressive

Noem, Tim Scott, etc. all look lightweights to me so that leaves JD Vance and I'm not sure Trump will pick a freshman senator

So that leads me to conclude that Tulsi Gabbard has this!!

Interesting...

Mark this thread because I have immediately placed $25 on her at 7/1 and will be donating the winnings (175 bucks) to FR if she is chosen by Donald Trump.

I'm confident enough for a small wager anyway!

Who agrees with me that it'll be her? And who's excited by this possibility?

Are you thinking straight? PA is NOT United States. PA has been blue for several election cycles. Comparing Dr Oz as a state candidate versus Trump as a national candidate is like comparing lemons with watermelons. Trump has charisma off the charts. You should attend one of his rally’s to witness this first hand.

I don’t know her stance on the second amendment.

It has shifted markedly over the past half-decade. She explains why in some detail in a number of articles and interviews.

Here’s an opinion piece that she wrote, but it is hardly alone:

I have seen Tulsi in many TV interviews. She is well spoken and always has a command of the facts. She would be formidable during debates with Kamala.

Yep, what a contrast it would be.

You nailed it. I can’t think of any other person who would be as effective in dis-mantling the deep state as Vivek Ramaswamy. This dude has energy, intelligence, fearlessness, speaking ability, memory of issue details, and vocabulary, off the charts.

Military police in Iraq? She’s probably shot more than a dog and a goat.

How about Vivek Ramaswamy for VP? This dude has energy, intelligence, fearlessness, speaking ability, memory of issue details, and vocabulary, off the charts. He is pro-life and pro-2nd Amendment.

Of course you are NOOOOO for Tulsi.
She would cut off all involvements in unnecessary foreign wars, and that includes Ukraine war which you want US to get involved in full force.

Well if true. I bet the Lincoln Project never saw that coming and didn’t infiltrate her background too much yet.

As far as I could tell, she was unscripted, and to my eye and ear, genuine.

I agree with that. What I am saying is that she will guide her responses out of certain areas, and for the most part the interviewers are content to let that go and head towards areas of agreement.

She *has* shifted from where she was, and she’s not a crazy. She wasn’t, even before.

I’m not saying she shouldn’t be welcomed...just not suitable for a VP - even more so that Trump is an older guy with all the health risks that entails.

As for the videos of lefties going to a Trump rally, some of them are quite funny - even where they go in openly trying to be confrontational and are met with friendliness, calm understanding, and discussion.

She was a communist very recently.

She also converted to Hinduism.

She’s a mixed up person.

Wait 5-10 years to see if she’s really changed.

she’s also a flaming leftist and unsuitable to take over the Presidency.

IIRC she was born Hindu, as her parents had become Hindu before she was born (1970s). Hence her name.

She held public office as a Democrat. If elected with Trump, there's a very good chance that she could end up president during Trump's term, either because of his age or his legal charges. And she'd be the GOP front-runner in 2028. A Democrat.

I have no idea what Trump is thinking here, but I'd hate this choice.

...JD Vance and I'm not sure Trump will pick a freshman senator.
I generally recoil at placing a US senator in any government administrative position. I feel their inbred Senatorial temperment hampers them in performing a straightforward job....ie, Jeff Sessions recusing himself from the FBI's Russian investigation.

Vance, though, as a 1st time senator may not yet be totally corrupted by the go-along-to-get-along Senate.

As for Gabbard, I'm okay with her, and frankly, whoever Trump picks. The main thing is to get behind the ticket and win November.

Somebody is always saying that Liz Cheney or Mitt Romney or some other Republican renegade is going to get a Democratic nomination, but no, the Democrat base doesn’t take well to renegade Republicans — certainly not at the very top of the ticket. Are Republicans just going to accept a former Democrat and Bernie Sanders’ supporter?

Thanks for your thoughts. I, too, believe Gabbard has had an honest about-face migration, or nearly so. Ala Reagan....and for that matter, as did Trump, imo.
