I'm making a bold prediction today she's got this based on the following evidence:
She's on the list
Donald Trump Shortlist: Tulsi Gabbard's VP Chances Soar
"Tulsi Gabbard's odds of becoming the 2024 Republican vice-presidential candidate surged with a leading bookmaker after Donald Trump said she was on his short list during a Fox News town hall on Tuesday".
She wants it
Tulsi Gabbard ready to ‘serve my country’ as Trump’s vice president if asked
“If that call came, I would say yes, and I'd be honored to serve my country in that way and to be in a position, first, to help win this election, to stop the Democratic elite from destroying our country, and then actually begin the real work of getting our country back on track,” Gabbard said.
“And that starts with having people of courage in our government who care more about the country than they do about the political elite in Washington."
Betting odds reflect her growing chances
She was 35/1 earlier this year now she is 7/1 2nd FAVORITE in the betting to be the GOP Vice Presidential nominee.
For someone who isnt even a Republican to be 2nd Favorite for the nomination is unprecedented.
Her rivals are unimpressive
Noem, Tim Scott, etc. all look lightweights to me so that leaves JD Vance and I'm not sure Trump will pick a freshman senator
So that leads me to conclude that Tulsi Gabbard has this!!
Interesting...
Mark this thread because I have immediately placed $25 on her at 7/1 and will be donating the winnings (175 bucks) to FR if she is chosen by Donald Trump.
I'm confident enough for a small wager anyway!
Who agrees with me that it'll be her? And who's excited by this possibility?
Tulsi’s miles from being a conservative.
Yes, being MAGA should be the number one requirement. I like J.D. Vance and Donalds. Ramaswamy would be good but I believe he has a NBC problem.
You make that choice with Geometric Logic?
That’s my position, too. I like what she’s saying now, but it’s too soon to trust that her changed views will last. Give it another 5 years.
I'd give him the assignment of reforming our universities and have him work with whomever President Trump chooses as Secretary of Education to clean out the extremists who have infiltrated American university and college campuses.

Traditional politics would dictate he’d pick someone who can win him some battleground states. Noem doesn’t help, Scott doesn’t help directly but maybe could swing some black male votes in GA. Vance doesn’t help unless Ohio is tight. Desantis doesn’t help. Younkin is inexperienced and controversial at home.
But Trump isn’t a traditional politician.
By the same standards Tulsi doesn’t help because Hawaii won’t likely flip with or without her. But picking her has its advantages- it exacerbates splits in the left, it shows he’s not a partisan but a unifier, a man of principles and ideas over party. Shes a veteran/service member. She’s an empowered and smart woman of principle who could speak to everyone. She can speak to women on women’s issues and help defuse the Democrat campaign hysterics over abortion (it’s a state’s rights issue, the Trump admin isn’t going to interfere etc). She can speak to disaffected democrats and centrists. He could do worse and maybe cannot do much better in picking her, as long as she isn’t openly strident on their differences of opinion.
Ok, list specifics please. What are her policy positions on the border, on gun control, on taxes, on government over reach.
Lots of people spent time in Iraq. Thats not a qualifier by itself. Military service in general is a good thing, but not in every ones case (i.e. John Kerry)
Would I vote for her for president if Trump were not running? No, I wouldn't. So if she's a heartbeat away from the presidency would I be comfortable with that? Not really.
At least the Neom hit came out before she was made the VP.
This would have been an incredible October surprise 2 weeks prior to the election.
Ronald Reagan and Winston Churchill.
Both of whom, I recall, did rather well with their second choice parties.
If you watch her for a while, you will see that for the most part the interviews with her concentrate on the things she has in common with conservatives. People like Tucker have generally stayed in that lane. PBD concentrated on those things as well, but the few times he wandered out of those areas she smiled and distinctly avoided answering - sometimes plainly when PBD pursued follow-ups. She still holds quite a few views which are on the left - though she has broken with leftists.
When the Democrats held their 2020 Presidential debates, it was clear that Tulsi and Marianne Williamson were distinctly different from the others and not crazy leftist ideologues, but while she might make a good neighbor or advisor, she really still is not the one you want in charge except as a ‘lesser of two evils’ situation.
I am not a fan of her but I am simply amazed anyone cares Noem killed a dog.
What a bunch of children.
Unless you think you need her, or someone like her, to win and save the nation.
That's what I believe. 1) The nominee will be female; 2) Any female acceptable to FR will lead to defeat; QED: She's the one.
I understand that. If Trump selects her, obviously, I won’t wait that long.
I don’t want to see him select a running mate based on sex or skin color, but...there are segments of the population that need pandering to, apparently because it isn’t an issue of...issues to those people.
I hate the “He needs to select a female/black/Asian/minority because...” because the “because” is defined already by the female/black/Asian/minority.
I want someone who will be loyal to him if he is elected, has conservative values, and can step in if needed.
She’s pro-abort. No way. It would alienate the MAGA base. If she did a complete one-eighty on the issue then maybe.
It doesn’t mean anything that President Trump says someone is on his short list - that keeps the intrigue alive and doesn’t commit him to anything.
I bet if someone in the press asked if Putin is on his short list he would not rule it out - he’d say something like - he’s a very smart man - nothing is off the table..
He wants the press to keep talking about it - but he has nothing to gain by narrowing his options down to some short list.
There is no short list.
She could have said she had ten abortions and it would be okay with more than half the population.
Kill a dog and you are bad person.
Not just smart and articulate, but tough!
He’ll fight for the Movement.
JD Vance many be another one...not sure yet
Agree. The successor - if the President is killed or incapacitated. Sorry, this would be a loss not a win. I have voted in every election, but I would sit this one out.
I didn’t see it that way when I watched the interview. As far as I could tell, she was unscripted, and to my eye and ear, genuine. The one place I did home in on the squishiness was when she expanded on 2nd Amendment rights, and while she spoke the words about self defense and defense from a tyrannical government as well as many conservatives, she used the catchphrase “middle ground” which always makes my guard go up. But it is a far cry from where she was. I think she has had time outside the Leftist Fever Swamp that she was part of (particularly in her role as Vice Chair of the DNC) to observe from more of a distance.
But I understand others don’t see it that way. Heck, I often don’t. But I had to face things I said about her that I felt were not factual after I watched it. Personally, I think we need to find a way to welcome those people in, and we traditionally have done that, IMO.
I find it fascinating when Lefties go to a Trump rally with an open mind (yes, it is like the old “an Irishman walks out of a bar” joke, where it really does happen sometimes...) and they are surprised at how non-blood-dripping-fangs and congenial conservatives are (unless they are being attacked, of course.
I have also found the exercise of questioning someone who professes to vote Democrat interesting as well, because often, after you ask them pointed questions you might say “Why on earth are you voting Democrat? You don’t sound like one.)
I have seen that, too...:)
I think she’s a veteran, and she would be the most beautiful veep ever, if I’m still allowed to notice.
