02 Porridge Poi
Poi is a traditional Hawaiian food, a nutritious, starchy dish made from the taro plant, prepared by smashing the cooked corm (underground plant stem) and adding water to it until it becomes a thick, sticky paste that is purple in color. It stimulates weight loss, lowers cholesterol, is a great source of vitamin B and calcium, and it has low fat and protein content.

Never tried poi, but Hawaiians love Spam, I despise Spam, when the cafeteria in my military schoo would advertise it as breakfast sausage.
The top 5
#1 The Luther burger(basically a bacon cheeseburger on a glazed donut)
#2 Poi
#3 Spaghetti pie
#4 frogeye salad
#5 chocolate covered bacon
Others include pizza strips, chicken ala king, and fortune cookies.
I love the three above, I know I'm weird but I do eat the fortune cookie.

What a nonsense list. No real American eats these foods - these are made up foods only found as curiosities at fairs etc. Not in real American homes.

Poi- add milk/cream and sugar to it and it’ll taste like dessert.

On one of my Hawaiian trips, I ventured to try some poi at one of those luaus but quickly went back to the meat of the pig-in-ground!

It all depends on what you prefer.
Some of their list are nonsense.
Chocolate covered bacon or potato chips though? I could see that.

I find the article confusing.”Worst rated?” By whom? The text is generally neutral and doesn’t explain why the dish should be “worst rated.” Boston baked beans? Really? Cincinnati chili? Why? My forebears came from New Mexico and biscuits are actually the official state cookie. They’re delicious. Why are they here? Etc etc etc. lots of stuff I wouldn’t touch with a stick, but also some very nice dishes. Article doesn’t make much sense

No real American eats these foods
I grew up with "Pork and Beans", Candied Apples, Russian Dressing (it should have RELISH in it), have seen "Chicken ala King" on diner menus (and may have had it in a school cafeteria), have seen tuna salad and ambrosia (both disgusting). Wisconsin cheddar beer soup IS a thing in Wisconsin. My Aunt Marion did horrific things with Jell-O.

Eskimo ice cream. Mix together Crisco shortening, sugar, and frozen fruit. My husband’s brother was married to an Yupik eskimo. She made that gawd awful concoction and brought it to a family get together.

"Eggplant. In any form."
Switch to rutabagas. (I don't eat them myself, but somebody must eat them, cause they always have them at the grocery store.)

I like chocolate covered bacon. When I was working overseas, a tin of it occasionally appeared in a care package. Chocolate and bacon - the best of both worlds.
