Local man set himself on fire outside Trump trial

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — UPDATE 5:28 a.m.- The Associated Press reported that Maxwell Azzarello has died. The New York City Police Department confirmed the information with the news outlet.
New York City police say a St. Augustine man set himself on fire outside a courthouse where former President Donald Trump was on trial and he is now in critical condition.
Police say 37-year-old Maxwell Azzarello from St. Augustine was throwing pamphlets with conspiracy theory propaganda in the air before the incident.
Action News Jax learned Azzarello lived in an apartment building on St. George Street for about three years but moved out within the last two months.
“He was a very friendly neighbor, never too loud or anything like that, so it’s pretty surprising,” a neighbor who didn’t want to be identified said.
The property manager of the apartment building told Action News Jax he lived there in good standing, never had any issues with him, and passed background checks.
Azzarello was arrested at least three times in St. Augustine, twice at the Casa Monica Resort & Spa, Autograph Collection. One time, a police report said he threw a glass of wine at an autographed Bill Clinton frame, staining it.
The St. Augustine Police Department told Action News Jax he had a history of mental health issues but didn’t elaborate further. He was also recently on probation for criminal mischief and disorderly conduct, one of the rules was he had to follow the Marchman act rules, which is for drug abuse treatment.

Awful way to die.
Smoke gets in your eyes.
Dumb way to die.
Which wife? He had two. The first died of cancer. The 2nd is still alive.
Apparently smoking is bad for your health.

***he had a history of mental health issues***
Long past time to reopen the mental hospitals closed down in the 1970s and the patients dumped on the streets. The mass murder rate took off like a rocket when that happened.
so what prescription anti-depressants was he taking?
Article says he went nutso in the Casa Monica Hotel, St. Augustine,FL. 1888 built (by Henry Flager- Rockefeller’s right hand man who built the railroad to Key West.) Iirc, Flagler built it. Very elegant spanish moorish architecture.
A friend once said St. Augustine is a town full of fishermen, dreamers, and fools. To self- immolate and plan to do it (one would have to) is a severe action of no doubt inner disease, brain tumor like the Texas Tower sniper. Classic article “he was a nice guy but something was going on”.... no kidding sister.
The guy is cogent, yet, it’s apparent he has arrived at some strange intermediate conclusions.
He says QAnon, Trump, Peter Thiel, and Hillary, along with plenty of people we wouldn’t trust, are all in on a huge financial misdirection through the abuse of cryptocurrency. He says all crypto is a Ponzi scheme and it’s all gone.
While I agree with some parts of his ranting, he weaves too much that has nothing to support it.
He thinks they all are a part of a cabal.
I really don’t see Trump as being embedded into this such that he’s actually close with Hillary and the crud happening to him he is simply enjoying being an actor through it all, and that it’s even based around his deep involvement on swindling cryptocurrency investors out of their money (along with all sorts of others who are liberal, he notes).

Wouldn’t The Blaze be a better source?
According to the article he suffered from drug addiction AND mental illness......after reading some of the comments on this tread I really don’t know what’s so funny about that because I certainly didn’t post this as a joke.

This lunatic killed himself in a public attempt to make us notice him. We all have to face the fate of death. However we don’t have to face it today just because some lunatic said so.
Horrifying and sad. Mental illness and vexation are not things to laugh at.
I am curious though — and I’m not joking — there have been a handful of self-immolations as of late. I remember another gentleman, last year I believe, setting himself on fire (and surviving?)
I’m probably not going to word this question correctly, but I wonder what this might say about our where our society is at spiritually and mentally when self-immolation becomes a form of suicide/protest.
Again, I might not be wording my question correctly.
Was he vaxxed?
Dude was a Richard Pryor fan
It’s a style issue.
During the Vietnam unpleasantness, self immolation was in style for Buddhist monks, and bell bottom jeans were popular here.
Now self immolation is becoming popular for incels here, expect bell bottoms to become in style in Vietnam...
We know he’ll be voting for Biden in November.
The enemedia will try to depict him as a deranged Trump supporter.
Yes I get what your saying.
The enemy runs this world, and will until a time only God knows.
That is concept many either aren’t aware of or just plain ‘ol refuse to believe.
My men’s group is studying a book about spiritual warfare at the moment.....another concept unless they are Christians many either aren’t aware of or just plain ‘ol refuse to believe.
IMO this young man was under that very type of attack.
Unfortunately this time, satan was successful.
