Ordinary run of the mill B12 from a number of different sources is fantastic stuff. My daily intake has drastically enhanced my quality of life.

Your post is just garbage. Drivel, Balderdash

Totally agree that the form should be methyl not cyano and a good source of it is a site called pernicious anemia.org out of Israel. That’s where I buy mine. It’s the injectable form

Naturally occurring B12 is methylcobalamin, in which a methyl group is attached to the central cobalt ion. Cyanocobalamin is a form of B12 that has a cyanide attached to the central cobalt ion. It’s synthesized that way as it’s thought to be more stable and thus better to use as a supplement. Cyanocobalamin gets made into either methylcobalamin or adenosylcobalamin - which are natural forms.

The only real difference appears to be in absorption rate after oral ingestion (cyanocobalamin is absorbed slightly better), and the retention (methylcobalamin has a higher retention rate). That said, there may be more differences than we currently know.

vegetarians can suffer from B12, B6 deficiencies as well as anemia. They should be checked to see if they need supplements.

Hi Dan. Maybe if you say that the yellow B12 stuff cyanocobalamin is scraped off the top layer of fermented human poo at the sewage treatment it might get a better reaction.

It’s interesting and beneficial to learn about various forms of vitamins and what is better to use, but not everyone is smart enough to realize this ;)

Cheers :)

“Milorganite is a brand of biosolids fertilizer produced by treating sewage sludge by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District. The term is a portmanteau of the term Milwaukee Organic Nitrogen. The sewer system of the District collects municipal wastewater from the Milwaukee metropolitan area. After settling, wastewater is treated with microbes to break down organic matter at the Jones Island Water Reclamation Facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The byproduct sewage sludge is produced. This is heat-dried with hot air in the range of 900–1,200 °F (482–649 °C), which heats the sewage sludge to at least 176 °F (80 °C) to kill pathogens. The material is then pelletized and marketed throughout the United States under the name Milorganite. The result is recycling of the nitrogen and phosphorus from the waste-stream as fertilizer. The treated wastewater is discharged to Lake Michigan.”

I require injections of B-12 to exist and have regularly taken cyanocobalamin for 35 years. There is nothing wrong with cyanocobalamin and the manufacturing process. Cyanocobalamin is just one of a large number of medicines coming from China and that is a concern, but is hardly unique to cyanocobalamin.

Source Material: The starting material for the production of cyanocobalamin can be bacterial biomass that naturally produces vitamin B12 analogues. Certain strains of Pseudomonas and Propionibacterium are commonly used due to their high yield of B12.

Fermentation: The bacteria are cultured in large fermenters under controlled conditions to maximize the production of B12 analogues. This process involves the fermentation of suitable substrates, such as glucose or glycerol, under anaerobic conditions.

Extraction and Purification: After fermentation, the biomass is harvested, and the vitamin B12 analogues are extracted. The extraction process typically involves the use of solvents or ion exchange chromatography.

Conversion to Cyanocobalamin: The extracted B12 analogues are then chemically converted into cyanocobalamin. This involves the replacement of the lower ligand (part of the molecule attached to the central cobalt ion) with a cyanide group. The cyanide group is introduced through a chemical reaction, often involving the use of potassium cyanide (KCN) under controlled conditions to ensure safety and efficiency.

Final Purification and Formulation: The cyanocobalamin is further purified to remove any impurities and then formulated into the desired product form, such as tablets, injections, or food additives.

My wife started taking a supplement that contains Vitamins B6, B9 and B12 and her white hair started turning back to its original red.

Hair color restoration is actually a known effect of taking those three supplements together.

I am going to give it a try, too.

Yikes!
Just chucked a bottle of B`12 away... “Nature Made” brand...
It states that it is made from cyanocobalamin...
