Gee, I lived through the total eclipse in Oregon some years ago, and nobody had any problems. I don’t know what the big deal is now. The hub-bub seems pretty ridiculous.

We traveled to the People’s Republic of Oregon in 2017 for a total eclipse of the Sun. The Oregon Politburo organized a fun time at the Salem Fairgrounds. As the Moon completely covered most of the Sun, except for the Corona, the temperature immediately dropped significantly.
Also, go look for the shadows on the ground from tree leaves. Either before or after total eclipse, the leaf shadows on the ground show a half crescent. It is remarkable

I am rooting for heavy cloud cover from coast to coast on Eclipse Day. That will kill ALL the gardens!

They should just stop watering. It won’t help.

I don’t understand why the sun doesn’t melt the cheese that the moon is made of.

If you think eclipses are bad for your garden, you ought to see what midnights do to your garden!

That's what turns the moon cheese into swiss cheese, with all those visible holes in it.

That’s my plan since I’m about an hour and half drive from the centreline. If I’m not back on FR by Tuesday you’ll know the eclipse got me. Erase me from your ping lists and put me up on the FR Memorial Wall. :)

"IS THE ECLIPSE GONNA KILL MY GARDEN?"We now know how low the educational level of a gardener can go. Same goes for a Travis County (TX) judge, who issued a Declaration of Local Disaster for the solar eclipse, which the weather forecasts predict will be concealed by clouds.
Maybe the judge is trying to put law enforcement on alert in case any of the illegal aliens in the area attempt to perform human sacrifice to appease the sun gods.
