"The Constitution won’t save America"

It may be true that a remnant of the old constitution — the old American nation — remains alive in the hearts of some portion of the American people. But if so, it is now battered and bloody, struggling for breath as the new constitution seeks to finish it off once and for all. Perhaps this is the best way to describe the true cause and nature of the existential political and cultural clash that has riven the American body-politic and continues to grow fiercer by the day: it is indeed, as Joe Biden has put it, a final “battle for the soul of America”.

This is the real reason why the Constitution can’t and won’t save us now: in today’s struggle it no longer has any real power over men because it no longer corresponds to the unfortunate new inner reality of America’s unwritten constitution. The old “infallible public spirit, beyond all praise, which directs everything, which protects everything”, which the document once embodied, is no longer there to give it substance.

It sure seems that this is what we’re witnessing today. Whether or not we attribute the key role to Christian belief or to some broader but less easily defined national moral character, it seems clear to me that the Constitution is no longer alive with any such frightful sacred authority; it has been thoroughly profaned, and therefore opened to abuse. Nor is there today even a shared national understanding of its meaning and unwritten spirit. Whereas once few people would have dared try to blatantly twist its words to mean something that all would know implicitly they could not mean, our rulers no longer hesitate to do so — and often succeed. They succeed because that implicit constitution has been replaced.

One of the better pieces I've read recently. With a solid plurality of the population (including most of the elite) striving to trash Constitutional government and replace it with a corporate fascist state having a veneer of social communism, the situation is very dire indeed. I have some hope the November election may turn things around, but only some.

I think we have lost what we once had.
I don’t think we can vote our way out of this.

And if our side plays by the rules and mistakenly thinks that the Constitution is still in force, we will lose.
The other side sees no Constitution, no laws, no justice system. They want power, and they take power. That’s why they win.

Just about time to play a new game.

Yes, the power game needs to be played— and after it is, the Constitution cited as the empowerment for the rescue of the world’s greatest Republic, representative Republic, not a Leftist/Marxist/Fascist State.

Much has been written on the kinds of coups that brought down other nations, like the Bolsheviks (who never actually had the power until they opened fire on the more fanatic Socialists/Anarchists, and created “allies” of idiots within the Dumas. We need to play our cards close to the chest, ClearCase. You make a ClearCase for that and other Jeffersonian solutions to rid us of the Marxist plague of corruptocrats.

That and prayer. Righteous prayer from a righteous people- those that are left today. It is very hard to believe that 80 years ago this country rescued the world FOR the damned socialists, under the leadership of an even worse socialist, FDR, whom the dems still think they emulate (way past FDR, to Alinsky).

At the current rate of borrowing money that the GOPe is spending ($1.2 trillion every 100 days) this country will hit $50 trillion in debt by the end of the decade, the Constitution won’t mean anything to anybody when the country falls apart and the Feds can’t rule anymore. What happens in these few years is anybody’s guess, yet when government owes the population dozens of trillion of dollars they have lost the game in the long run. We’ll see what happens in the long run however the trend does not look good

235 years. Not a bad run. If Biden wins again, at least we’ll end up in the history books just like the Romans. So we can pat ourselves for doing so well for a long period of time.

Well- Julius Caesar tried to end the Republic. It did not go well for him or the following coalition triumvirate which went to civil war (Pompey and the elite vs. Caesar’s adopted son Octavian, and Agrippa). Did not go well for any of them, Brutus, Cassius and Pompey— because of the power of the wheat supplier to Rome— Egypt.

Dancing down a razor blade in speculation. This is not to be a spectator sport.

I think you are right-- I think it is possible but very unlikely that we can vote our way out of this, especially when the ballots are stuffed so brazenly.

Even if Trump wins in November, he too much of a choirboy frankly to do what is necessary.

Plus the restoration of real Constitutional government with such a corrupt and unscrupulous elite and so many infected with the woke mind virus would require a Constitutional interregnum where these groups are suppressed, something like Sulla's proscription lists or Pinochet, or even worse.

The Argentines are the only ones who disinfected themselves from Communism, and that required not only killing the Tupamaro guerrillas but their families, their teachers and their teachers' families, etc., anyone even remotely associated with the Communists was hunted down and killed.

Joe Biden is going to end the American Republic. We may enter a transition period. Either America will fall apart like the former Soviet Union or it will become a totalitarian state like China.

I think it's too early to say.

There needs to be a rude awakening. Starting with the “free” press.

Things cannot continue as they have with even the Federal Reserve, whose charter can be revoked by committed individuals. The Chinese— default on them, and tell them to kiss our A@@. We do not need them, no matter what the middlemen cranks say. That’s a start. Get our fiscal house in order. And, while we’re at it— eliminate certain tech lords who are really f’ing things up for their crummy little benefit. Any more on this would get the fgov lurkers here permanent uncontrolled flatus attacks.
