Well before my time but thought some here might appreciate !
For my money, you just can’t beat Petula Clark.
Great song. I had the 45. The final chorus and harmonies on that 45 when played through a good system were incredible.
I love 60’s music. Growing up in the 80’s my Dad would always have the oldies station(50’s and 60’s music) on the radio for my Sister and I for breakfast in the mornings.
Too bad so many of them came to a bad end - they were really talented, but the times were perilous indeed. Being young, wealthy, and famous didn’t do most of them much good.
I have SiriusXM Channel 73 (60s Gold) on my favorites list, among others. Someone could walk by my office and hear anything from the 40s to today, across all genres as long as it’s clean.
I love 60s music!
Well I do. I was 16 or 17 when this out first came out. Always loved it.

The Beach Boys - California Dreamin'
' Similar yet slight differences do exist.
Great songwriters: Jimmy Webb, Burt Bacharach, Laura Nyro, to name a few.
And the great musicians from The Wrecking Crew, and Muscle Shoals, and The Funk Brothers.
It’s shame you weren’t around to enjoy it. Real Rock and Roll, R and B, Folk, Jazz, Motown, Country all reached their zenith during the 60s. Nothing but mostly crap since about 1975.

The thing about the 60s is that styles would completely change from month to month. You can tell whether a song was recorded in January of 1967 or December of 1967.
Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music by Ray Charles 1963 is the best album ever recorded.

Be My Baby - The Ronettes
Perfect harmonies. Denny and Cass had amazing voices.
