They completely re-did the Su25 with the Su-25SM in 2012 or so.
It is basically the same airframe and all new bits.
FWIW, The Ukrainians evaluated the A10 and decided it offered no benefits and a number of issues compared to the newer SU25.

That really doesn’t matter as much anymore. What can be hit can be killed. In the future, one would have to expect that any incoming weapon is going to be smart enough to choose it’s most advantageous aspect of attack.

Good to hear that the military is moving towards a more ‘green’ approach to fighting its wars, even if it means many thousands of AMERICANS needlessly dying in the battlefields, after all it’s for a great cause, saving the planet.
And so, again, I will state a MAJOR REASON why I oppose US involvement in Ukraine, or any other war that doesn’t threaten us or our interests, is because the people RUNNING THE WAR are the same military-haters that I grew up with. The LAST THING they want is a military that is capable of fighting and winning.

The history is that there is an innovation in weapons, and the tank design is adapted to survive. Then the weapons change again...
Shape charge weapons can be defended against if you can disrupt the explosively formed projectile.
The thing they need to think about is Russia announced in 2023 they were increasing Krasnopol production by 25x.
There is no tank on earth that can stand up to a top hit from a 152mm. And seems unlikely to be developed.
The only reason I could think of for hybrid is low end toque to get the beast off from a dead stop faster.
I drove a Porsche like this and it damn near killed me being unprepared for the initial acceleration.
No clue if that would be a benefit in a tank.

I actually do agree. If a MILITARY-RELATED case can be made showing that a Hybrid has more advantages than disadvantages (which are many, starting with complexity), in a combat scenario, then it would make sense to go that direction. For starters, a tank able to operate on batteries would have a far lower heat signature than a tank with an active engine, something we in the battlefield worry quite a bit about, these days.
I would mainly be worried about fire. A battery is worse than a fuel tank.

Yep, that too. Even a 22 round could spell the end of that tank, including its crew.

Drones our today’s air superiority, and as someone else mentioned tanks are today’s battleships.

Represents a significant wast3 of time now, and human lives in the future.
The big question isn’t necessarily the quality and cost effectiveness of weapons systems being created.
The most relevant question now is whether the government will turn those weapons on its own citizens.
