ATLANTA (AP) — The judge in the Georgia election interference case against Donald Trump and others said Friday that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis must step aside from Trump case or remove the special prosecutor with whom she had a romantic relationship before case can proceed.
Willis and special prosecutor Nathan Wade testified at a hearing last month that they had engaged in a romantic relationship, but they rejected the idea that Willis improperly benefited from it as lawyers for Trump and some of his co-defendants alleged.
Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee said he found the “allegations and evidence legally insufficient to support a finding of an actual conflict of interest.” However, he found there remains an “appearance of impropriety.”

A win, win in her book. She now has an excuse to get rid of the incompetent boyfriend who is more proficient at grifting a paycheck than he is at drafting pleadings which have been quashed for insufficiency while she gets more face time with her political prosecution.
NY Post put it this way:
“Ga. DA Fani Willis can remain on Trump election fraud case —if special prosecutor Nathan Wade steps aside, judge rules”
Judge Scott MacAfee just became a laughing stick of America. He may retain his judgeship, in re-eection,but will forever have the gravitas of a whinimg mosquito.
NO, America knows that Fani Willis should have been removed fom the case. And the law requires it.
The Trump team handed MacAfee a smoking gun, and he says it was a lollipop?
BUhahahahahahaha!
Georgia has not system of Justice. Its just a collective of Kangaroo COurts and civic leaders who support illegals murdering women , such as happened in Athens Georgia.
WHat a joke. What will be the effect? As Justice disappears in Georgia the state will beome wracked by unapprehended violence. If I lived there I would be gathering arms and putting aside lots of ammo.for the debacle about to come.
Law and Order died today in Georgia. And those to suffer the
most will be those who look like Fani.
Very sad.
“Mendacity” always takes me back to Cat on a Hit Tin Roof. And a 25 ish Elizabeth Taylor.
He didn't have to be any of the above. He just wimped out because he couldn't handle the pressure of being a good, strong judge.
The good thing is that everyone in the Atlanta legal community now knows he is a spineless pussy. His reputation just went down the toilet.
No Accountability, got it!
“Is there no justice left in the nation?”
Justice left with Land of The Free - Home of The Brave a long time ago.
We all knew this was coming.
Talk about a cowardly, split-the-babie decision. “Only one criminal can be on the case, not two!
This judge needs to be mercilessly mocked.
The Deep State is... well... deep.
How js ugly, Fat Fani going to find a man to screw her so quickly. This is an injustice!
Well, the only hope is that she be disbarred for perjury and ethics violations. If this judge says one or the other must go, that means they are both as guilty. Her finances need investigating as is his. This doesn’t stop here. Gutless judge.
I think being a spineless pussy qualifies him to be both corrupt and incompetent.
Obviously no judge should have those faults.
He a squirming little worm without enough self-respect to be corrupt.
He's such a wimp he makes Joe and Hunter look macho.
.
Well, he and his wife gave the corrupt DA willis money for her campaign so he obviously has a conflict of interest. He should have recused himself rather than make a fool of himself.
Of course, no one knew at that time that Fani would also be a disgrace.
On top of which, there was no motion to recuse, so complaining about it now is pointless.
“If appeals are filed, absolutely No Chance this trial gets going before Nov. of 2024...”
Attorney Kenneth Chesebro has already pleaded guilty in the Georgia election interference case involving former President Donald Trump and his allies. His lawyer, Scott Grubman, spoke with CBS News congressional correspondent Nikole Killion about Friday’s ruling that allows District Attorney Fani Willis to stay on the case as long as Nathan Wade steps aside.
