New Kids on the Block announced on March 5 they will release their first studio album in 11 years. It is titled “Still Kids” and will be available on May 17.

The boy band released their first, self-titled album in 1986, and by 1990 they had become a global phenomenon. Fans lined up for hours, sometimes overnight, to score the best tickets to their concerts.

The love for the band was real. They dominated the airwaves and sold out stadiums all over the world.

It is almost guaranteed that a popular boy band would be compared to the quintessential British icons, and in 1990, there was no one bigger than NKOTB.

I dated a girl back around 1990 that was a HUGE NKOTB fanatic, she would literally run their cassette tape on replay on her radio all day long, nonstop. So much so that she wore it out and had to get a new one every couple weeks. At one time, I’m pretty sure I knew every single lyric to every NKOTB song by heart I had heard them so many times.
Actually, Donnie Whalberg turned out to be a pretty good actor. Better than his brother in my opinion.
When’s the Menudo reunion?
There’s never a Menudo reunion. They keep replacing the boys when they turn 16, so it’s always a new group..............

I remember the first time I heard nails on a blackboard, too.
I only know Donnie Wahlberg from his enjoyable acting. Can’t say I know anything else about them.
He was actually pretty good in Band of Brothers.

I was driving with a co-worker once on the way to his apartment when we passed what looked like 20 hot looking girls standing on the sidewalk.
I said I wonder what that is all about.
He replied “oh, that’s the Whalberg house, there’s a group of girls there 24/7”.
