Here is a ranking of major sports leagues by level of woke starting with the most:
1st. WNBA: The WNBA is the most woke major sports league. The league has been very vocal in its support of social justice causes, such as Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ+ rights. The league has also donated millions of dollars to support these causes. The WNBA has also been praised for its support of players' rights, and it has been a leader in the fight for equal pay for women athletes.

The term was popularized by the Black Power movement in the 1960s, and it has continued to be used by Black Americans to describe their awareness of racial injustice and the true non-whitewashed history of America.

I recall when major league baseball (it wasn’t called “MLB”) consisted of two totally separate leagues—and baseball was much better that way.

I suppose it’s an accurate ranking but I care not for any of them. I used to but I no longer follow any of them except for FR threads. That keeps me somewhat up to date on sports stuff but other than that they’re all flatlining for me.

I’ve heard the women’s NBA only survives because of the NBA subsidies, that they don’t earn enough from ticket sales and TV money to make it otherwise.
We can all say we want equal rights for women and all that, but, we can’t force people to buy tickets or watch women’s sports on TV.
Figured NHL would rank as the least Woke.
NBA, MLS, NFL, MLB, NHL, in that order. The commissioner of MLB is more work than the one that runs the NFL. However, the NFL had problems with national anthem protests and you didn’t see that in MLB. Plus MLB players tend to be more conservative than NFL even though you have a minority of NFL players who are conservative.

If no one watches your games, and no one attends, and the only coverage you get is from a network that broadcasts your games and therefore has a vested interest in your games, and the only way you financially survive is from subsidies from the companion men's league.... why should you receive equal pay? And equal to what?!
P.S. I notice ESPN is now pushing women's soccer, in the form of the NWSL. How many viewers will they draw? In the hundreds I imagine.

I suspect at least for next year WNBA will see an uptick in ticket sales with Caitlin Clark currently playing for Iowa going pro. Of course that will make many WNBA supporters not necessarily happy as she is straight and white.
