A woman in Ireland lost a more than $800,000 in an injury lawsuit stemming from a car crash after photos showed her launching a Christmas tree during a post-holiday competition – and winning the event. Kamila Grabska, 36, sued an insurance agency in the country, RSA Insurance, after a 2017 car crash she claimed caused her debilitating neck and back pain that prevented her from holding down a job for five years, the Irish Independent reported.
Grabska is a mom of two from the town of Ennis in County Clare, Irish media reports. The car accident was the result of someone hitting Grabska’s car from the rear, and allegedly left her unable to carry her young children or complete household chores.
She quit her job shortly after, received disability payments and argued that her previous and future lost income totaled more than $500,000, according to the Telegraph.

Well said.
Thanks.
I’d say the root of the problem is obvious but that would be needling because the root is already cut off.just throwing that out there...but not nearly as far she did.

These criminals need more than to just lose their pension. They need to pay it back.

Traveler was what I thought too. Any bets on whether she cut in front of the other driver and slammed on her brakes?
Ah, the old “Move To West, Win Lottery” scam.
Tens of thousands have pulled it off more successfully than her.
Loser.
And at the same time, just another reason why the larger EU countries are crumbling into dust.

It’s a regular Dickens’ story.
Agreed.
I’ve been battling COPD, POTS, and life threatening novel seizures since two rounds of COVID (no, not the jab, actual COVID) wrecked my system.
I’m still working, still making deals for my company, still doing what I can with the minimal strength I have.
I despise grifters and frauds.
I respect your gumption, and 100% agree on grifters and frauds.
The ADA and Social Security Disability are two of the most abused government programs there are.
It makes me very angry towards people who take money from those who REALLY need the benefits.
disabled doesn’t mean confined to a wheelchair or that folks can’t do strength required things from time to time- it’s just that they are limited, and can’t sustain physical activity for long- BUT- Yeah- Her hucking trees around sounds like disqualifying to me-
There was a PI named Tank Jones in Alaska who was investigating a disability fraud case. He got word that the subject was flying down to America to compete in some sport competition so he booked a seat at the last minute on the same plane the subject was on. Miracle of all miracles, his seat was right next to the subject. They chopped it up on the flight down and the subject even gave him a complementary ticket to the games. Tank got all the evidence he needed at the games and the guy lost his disability.
A NYC fireman out on disability was [contemporaneously] hired by a Broward/Fort Lauderdale fire department. Double-dipping pensions by now.
