I find the popular serving recommendations for a healthy diet both unrealistic and vague to the point of uselessness.
For instance, the DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet recommends 'four to five servings each of fruits and vegetables, six servings of whole grains, and two or three servings of low-fat dairy per day.' Other dietary recommendations push seven to eight 'servings' of fruits and vegetables per day.
So, what in the HELL is a "serving?" We're almost never told. Regardless, how can anyone fit that much food, much less just fruits and vegetables into their belly in a day? That's untenable in my book.
Even if you had a fruit for breakfast, two veggies for lunch, and 3 for supper (including a salad), that would still put you two behind for the day. And that's on a GOOD DAY.
Diets this extreme aren't sustainable. In other words, they'll fail.
Any thoughts?
Which is why I did it. In any case, eating that crap my whole life didn’t kill me, although the HFCS from the Cherry Coke was certainly trying.

Your primary problem is associating with anything that uses the euphemism ‘diet’. Worse, you’re referencing a facet of labeling dictated by a regulatory agency advised by the same idiots who brought us the lockdown.
Stick with the ‘rule of 3’, consume equal parts food brown/green/colored (including fruits/carbs/veggies/protein) and eat poached fish twice a week and get back to me in 3 months.
I bet most all of your health issues subside unless you have either a parasite or some condition unrelated to dietary intake dictating your health .
To be clear - since a search just now reveals that they stole the label for some other ‘diet’ garbage - the ‘Rule of 3’ outlines consuming no packaged foods with more than 3 ingredients (it does NOT govern recipes for fresh foods).
