As befits a careful lawyer who has served in senior positions in both Republican and Democrat administrations, Chuck Rosenberg is more even-handed than the typical MSNBC legal analyst.
But there's nothing even-handed about Morning Joe regular Katty Kay, of the notoriously liberal BBC.
And so, the pair had a polite but clear clash on today's Morning Joe in discussing the motion brought by one of Trump's co-defendants to have Fani Willis disqualified from the election interference case she has brought against them in Georgia.
Rosenberg began by describing the issue of the potential conflict of interest if Willis benefitted financially from her hiring of her boyfriend, Nathan Wade. He then ventured into the issue of the timing of the beginning of the Willis/Wade relationship.
Interjected an impatient Kay: "Frankly, does any of that really matter for the substance of the Georgia case?" Translation: enough of this stuff about Willis' misconduct. Let's get back to the business of convicting and imprisoning Trump!
Riposted Rosenberg, politely but firmly, "Maybe." He explained that if the relationship started before Willis hired Wade, then the affidavit he submitted could be "false." Moreover, Willis then submitted Wade's affidavit to the court in support of her contention, so she could be on the hook for its falsity, too.

Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
NOTE TO KITTY KAY:
YOUR OWN COUNTRY HAS ENOUGH PROBLEMS-—GO BACK THERE & TAKE YOUR BITCHING WITH YOU.
Step aside? She should be arrested.
That's mighty white of him.
Oh my, if Fani has lost MSNBC...
A. The Willis/Wade relationship apparently started before Willis hired Wade.
B. So the govt affidavit he submitted was falsified.
C. Willis then submitted Wade’s affidavit to the court in support of her contention.
D. Ergo she’s on the hook for falsification of govt documents, as well.
It doesn’t matter for the substance, but it sure matters for the politics. Amazing that the democrats don’t see how disastrous her corrupt behavior has been for their case.
Kay didn’t of course literally say that — it was my “translation” of what she actually meant! :-)
Exactly.
It’s funny watching Fanny saying she doesn’t want to immaculate a black man, then telling the world her lover can’t get it up and her lovers law firm partner sexually assaulted a male employee.
It worse than a soap opera!
Trump means the end of her charade and the money which comes with it.
I am sure she will be forced to step aside as a distraction to protect the hoax investigation and trial so it can be continued.
“We have had a dishonest prosecutor conducting an honest investigation.”
We have one witness who has testified that the relationship started BEFORE Wade joined the DA's Office. That would be Ms Yeartie, former Willis best friend, former employee of the DA's Office, and owner of the Hapeville condo that Willis and Wade met in. Another witness may be forthcoming. That would be Mr. Bradley, de facto law partner of Mr. Wade, who was previous restrained from testifying as to this matter by attorney-client privilege resulting from serving as Mr. Wade's divorce atty. The Judge is making a determination as to whether or not Bradley misinterpreted his problems testifying because of such privilege.
The second and biggest problem is that Willis claims she paid for her vacations with Wade with cash. She and Wade both admit that there is no evidence of such payments. No bank withdrawals by Willis, no bank deposits by Wade, no signed hand written receipt by Wade to Willis spelling out the amount, the date, or the purpose.
As an aside, all gifts over $100 received by Willis are supposed to be reported (to the State?) and Willis reported none re: the vacations. These vacations look like gifts unless Willis got receipts as evidence for her reimbursements to Wade. She didn't bother with that detail.
They are allowed to lie and perjure themselves in order to convict their targets.

Would make a great reality show——”The Real Lawmakers of Backwater Georgia”
<><>Fanny whines she doesn’t want to “emasculate” a black man,
<><>Fani then tells the world her lover can’t get it up
<><>her lover’s law partner is caught sexually assaulting a male employee.
<><>The Willis/Wade relationship apparently started before Willis hired Wade.
<><>Wade then submits a falsified govt affidavit.
<><>Willis submits Wade’s affidavit to the court in support of paying Wade $650,000 tax dollars
<><>now she’s on the hook for falsification of govt documents, and govt fraud.
Fun times!
Who would believe it?
Fact is…. They have proved she financially benefited. They produced credit card statements. She alleges that she refunded him in cash. There is zero evidence that happened. He didn’t even deposit the cash. Zero evidence except credit card statements. They have proved the allegations.
