'Toby Keith passed peacefully last night on February 5th, surrounded by his family. He fought his fight with grace and courage. Please respect the privacy of his family at this time,' a message posted on his social media platforms read.
The singer is survived by his wife, Tricia Lucas, and their three children, daughters Shelley Covel Rowland, fellow singer Krystal Keith and son, Stelen. He also had four grandchildren. During his illustrious career, Keith sold over 40 million records.
Earlier this month, the singer opened up about his stomach cancer battle in an interview with 9News. The Should've Been a Cowboy singer was first diagnosed in 2021. Keith was born Toby Keith Covel in Clinton, Oklahoma, in 1961.
'I was going through all the chemo, radiation, surgery, and I got to the point where I was comfortable with whatever happened. I had my brain wrapped around it, and I was in a good spot either way,' Keith said.

Yup.
You say yourself, that cancer is an "insidious disease." You should have stopped right there.
I'm a survivor myself, partly because of targeted cancer treatments developed by pharmaceutical companies. Cancer treatment today is significantly more advanced than when Nixon was in office. Patients have more options and those options come with fewer devastating side effects.
This post should be to honor Toby Kieth and his life--you didn't need to take a swipe at pharmaceutical companies.
Cancer cannot be “cured”. It can only be suppressed or slowed down by surgery or chemo or immunotherapy. When your body has lost ability to recognize cancer cells and kill them, cancer will always come back given enough time. Cancer cells are your own cells with faulty DNA. There is no way to find billions of cancer cells in body by artificial means and kill them.
One of the greats. RIP Cowboy.
Yeah, saw that too...😉
oh that sucks. for us. hopefully, good for him.
it’s interesting that the only patriotism that can be found is in entertainment is in country and western music.

“I started doing it 9/2/2021. Six weeks in, keeping in mind I wasn’t supposed to make it...what does that scan say? 50% less disease...8 more weeks, I have another scan. No evidence of disease.”

Dude was advised by a Brazilian veterinarian, whose father was a renowned Brazilian heart surgeon, to take Fenbendazole – marketed as an animal dewormer.
He took it along with four other common non-prescription medicaments in what he called a “cocktail”, including an anti-inflammatory.
This young and previously vigorous and string marine had dutifully taken four doses of the mRNA gene therapy jab and was ridden with incurable cancer.
14 weeks later a scan showed he was disease free.
RIP.
Shouldn’t be much even nastiest freeper can say about this guy
RIP

“Certain kinds of cancer are being diagnosed more often in younger adults in the US, a new study shows, and the increases seem to be driven by cancers in women and adults in their 30s.
A government-funded study of 17 National Cancer Institute registries, published Wednesday in the journal JAMA Network Open, looked at more than 500,000 cases of early-onset cancer, or cancers diagnosed in patients under age 50, between 2010 and 2019. The study found that overall, early-onset cancers increased over that decade, by an average of 0.28% each year.
Cancers with the highest numbers of early-onset cases diagnosed in 2019 were breast (12,649 cases), thyroid (5,869) and colorectal cancers (4,097).
The biggest increases in early-onset cases were in cancers of the appendix, which went up 252%; cancers of the bile duct, which went up 142%; and uterine cancer, which increased 76%.
Incidence rates of early-onset cancers of the gastrointestinal tract grew the fastest from 2010 to 2019, increasing nearly 15%. Previous research has shown a rise in cancers of the digestive system, particularly colorectal cancers, among adults younger than 55 since the 1990s. “ ( August 16, 2023)
Righteous Guy. In fact, the very definition of Righteous Guy.
As someone who was diagnosed with Stage 3 stomach cancer two years ahead of Toby, a fan and someone who has seen him live, this hit me hard this morning when I saw his family tweet on X. As I’m 13 years older, I am very blessed to be cancer free.
Anyone with stomach cancer questions can Freep Mail me.
That is sad. Married for 40 years. Kids are probably mostly grown up.
Did he have risk factors, or was it just Mother Nature rolling the dice?
I entirely believe this, because sometimes body can miraculously re-learn how to recognize cancer cells and kill them.
We all have millions of cancer cells forming every day. We are cancer free because our bodies have ability to recognize faulty DNA cells.
Dug his cover of “Shambala.”
“..Cancer is an insidious disease. Since Nixon announced his war on cancer, we’ve poured billions of dollars into cancer research and “treatments .” Pharmaceutical companies have been enriched while the rates of many types of cancers have risen...”
It is a very insidious disease.
ALWAYS follow the money trail though.
Big Pharma would rather “treat” a disease ($$$$$$) for the rest of one’s remaining life than to “cure” a disease ($$).
And IF the truth were to be known that they’ve held back the cure from the “unwashed masses”, except for some very special elites, it will suck to be them come Judgement Day.
Yes, I’ve noticed that, too, over the years.
So the incidence of certain cancers has increased—what is your point? You made the claim in your first comment that “Pharmaceutical companies have been enriched while the rates of many types of cancers have risen.” That’s non sequitur and your word choices imply that pharma companies are somehow at fault for this.
