Detroit decision to go for it on 4th down was imbecilic.
If they had taken the field goal to tie and SF scored, Detroit would have had plenty of time to tie. Instead they ended up down by 10 with only three minutes left.
That was so sad!
Agreed. You got to know when to hold them and know when to fold them.
You're exactly RIGHT! The minute that happened I knew the momentum would shift and IT DID. That decision to "go for it" changed everything! Smart coaches ALWAYS take the points.
They did it twice on the SF 30 yatd line.
Agreed. They always needed that 2nd score and it was a chip shot right in front of them. One of the announcers who is far more experienced disagrees???
TWICE!....................
I couldn't agree more.
It's fine to be aggressive during the regular season.
No time to get cute in the Championship game.
Dan Campbell wanted to show everyone he had the "guts" to go for it, but there's playing aggressive and playing smart.
A head coach has to know about momentum and why his stupid decisions cost that.
To beat an explosive team like the 49ers, you keep them off the field.
You don't hand them a golden opportunity to mount a comeback.
Example: see Tom Brady
Take the points!
Yep
