NFL sacked after announcing ‘Black National Anthem’ will be played at the Super Bowl

The NFL is doing its part to contribute to the current climate of racial divisiveness by once again featuring a rendition of the “Black National Anthem” at next month’s Super Bowl in Las Vegas.

“Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter, activist and acclaimed actress Andra Day will sing “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Initially known for her 2016 Grammy-nominated behemoth, “Rise Up,” which amassed over 1 billion streams and an RIAA triple-platinum certification, Day has performed alongside numerous global artists and stars,” the league said in a press release.

Country music superstar Reba McEntire will sing the real national anthem the league also announced.

The featuring of alternate national anthems has been a matter of controversy and this year is no different with X users throwing a penalty flag on the NFL.

“Of course, in reality, the black national anthem is performed at every Super Bowl, because The Star-Spangled Banner is the anthem of ALL Americans. The effort to create a ‘black national anthem,’ and a ‘black Independence Day’ in Juneteenth, is part of a wider project to divide Americans up by race,” wrote conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.

When Sin City hosts its first Super Bowl at Allegiant Stadium on February 11, the song “Lift Every Voice and Sing” will be belted out by award-winning R&B singer Andra Day, the league announced on Thursday when it released its pregame lineup of entertainers.

Originally dubbed the “Negro National Anthem” by the NAACP in 1919, the song was “prominently used as a rallying cry during the Civil Rights Movement,” according to the organization. It has been featured at the last two Super Bowls.

“Peace & Blessings!!! Performing the Anthem at the SuperBowl yall! Grateful! Thank You God,” the artist wrote on X.

“Let’s get back to the days where Whitney Houston showed ALL Americans how to sing about and celebrate this country,” he added, sharing a video of the singer’s legendary rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” in 1991 during the buildup to the first Gulf War.

Yet another credible reason for true Americans to not watch NFL games. The knee thing did it for me. F the NFL!

When I watch sporting events, I watch them the following day in a condensed version on YouTube. All action, no distractions. Football games take about 40 minutes.

I might have a Swiss cheese on white bread with yellow mustard too.
Wash it down with white grape juice.

That is funny! I will try it, as long as the NFL gets no revenue off of it.

As I recall, the black national anthem was written by a black Republican. Why are we letting the left take this away from us?

A “black National Anthem” denotes a “white National Anthem”. White supremacy denotes black inferiority. Keep it up, morons.

Some guy named Usher is the halftime “Entertainment”.

Not to mention that every commercial will feature successful, wholesome family blacks. The only whites will be used if they need buffoonish losers, or if there is a home security system commercial with the white burglars.

Here is the letter I send to papers as a new NFL season begins. Of course it is never published, but at least I get to irritate a few people.

The Star-Spangled Banner and National Anthem provide the majestic musical/visual symbol of the Constitution I swore to support and defend as a Navy officer. My binding oath requires standing for the National Anthem and kneeling to pray for the country.

Now most pro sports plus ESPN, Nike, et al endorse kneeling when playing the anthem, as if disparaging the country could promote social justice. Instead, veterans understand settling grievances requires revering, defending the essence of our country found in the truths of the Declaration of Independence and preamble to our Constitution.

Veterans know that when armed forces members make the ultimate sacrifice, their remains are wrapped in the Star-Spangled Banner in remembrance of intangible personal liberties so ably represented by these documents. When buried the flag is removed, elegantly folded, and given to a spouse, child, sibling, or parent.

Previously success was defined by marriage, raising kids, careers, etc. Now a fashionable consensus defines success around one group adjusting behaviors to validate the emotional damage others have decided to inflict upon themselves for endless perceived aggressions, insults, and prejudices. The instigators gain prestige but lack dreams to pursue or accomplishments to celebrate. The subservient parties embrace costless moral superiority by holding themselves and the country in disgust. Both share peaceful defilement.

I will always choose success through the hazards and uncertainties of personal freedom over sheltering within codependent relationships. This country needs “a new birth of freedom” and must remain faithful to the Constitution as the embodiment of American ideals.

Where I live the NFL hasn't been much of a thing anyway. All my life it's been about college football. A few years ago Nick Saban and the Bama players did a Blame Lighter Melanins march. Bama fans immediately poured into sports message boards and sports talk shows expressing their disgust. Lifelong Bama fans were burning season tickets and jerseys. Even though it was year 2020 and, therefore, stadium seating was limited anyway, we were threatening to make the stadium even emptier and never watch a Bama game on TV again.

If you're not from Alabama, there is no way you can ever understand just how big that statement was from the fans. To us college football is preceded by only God and family. On numerous times Coach Saban said he'd never forget his first impression of fan support when in the spring game he walked into a stadium with over 90K fans. That wasn't a rivalry game. That was the spring game! After the BLM statements those same fans were telling him they didn't like being blamed for everything under the sun just for being too light colored!

We stuck to our word. We didn't watch or attend the games. Even with Bama starting off the season doing well (year 2020). Saban and the players got the point. Saban stated a few times during pre-game and post-game press conferences that "black lives matter because all lives matter". After that we didn't hear that mess again. It was his way of saying that they got the point.

And us fans forgave them and came back to the games, including watching Bama win the natty that year. We've been good ever since, in part because they know the Bama fans aren't a customer base that likes being blamed just for existing. That mess might fly with Lakers fans, but not Bama fans.
