I joined Nextdoor to see if there were any good deals I could find, also to stay informed about local issues.
Instead of a normal community, I found a bunch of wrinkled psychotic Karens. I made a joke or two and immediately was set upon by some sociopath chick who told me (publicly and privately in Nextdoor email) that I needed mental health help, and that I was a very evil, very bad person. She called me every name in the book, and ranted at me for about two pages of insane text.
I reported this crazy lady using the Report feature, and asked her politely never to contact me again.
The next time I tried to log on, I found I was banned.
Nexrtdoor.com is a ghetto version of the old Twitter, with banning policies that have absolutely no consistency or reason, and who is populated by shrill psychotic old ladies looking for a reason -- any reason -- to jump you.
I was banned from Nextdoor 3 years ago over my thoughts on Ivermectin and Covid!! Nextdoor is just like Reddit!!!
Mine is fine. Missing pets, found pets, requests for referrals, some announcements from vendors/contractors, and so on.
Most of the crime/criminal stuff I see is in local crime/safety/alert/marketplace focused FB groups. I don’t have any FB friends and just use those groups for information.
I never comment in any social media except here.
I made one post on Nextdoor about a treed cat in a neighboring yard. Turns out the cat was owned by a family new to the area. They got their cat and were grateful about it.
Top post for me now is a winter weather alert from the city.
Nextdoor.com is full of Karens who attack anyone who is not farther left than they are. If you doubt that is the case, just post quotes from Joe Biden from ten or more years ago and ask who said them.

Don’t know - his postings are from Peachtree/River Mile in GA.. I get the Cardinal Lake NextDoor in Gwinnett Co. I only read the first post if it looks interesting...and his jokes are at the beginning..
I thought it would be like a town paper.

A good surveillance system is much better without all the Karen Drama.
An idiot across the street got a dog for Christmas and let it out without a leash or supervision. It ran across the four-lane street and started jumping up on two neighbor women, who shouted. The owner came out and shouted for the dog to come back. The dog started to run back, but was run over by a car in front of the owner and several neighbors. The owner got mad at the neighbors upon whom the dog had jumped.
Did I mention that our county has had a leash law for decades—no dogs allowed out of the owner's property without being on a leash—and that the HOA distributed a written notice of it?
Years ago I lived in city rowhouse neighborhood near a large Catholic church that rang bells periodically throughout the day starting at 7:00 AM. Unbelievably, the non-Christian owner of a sex toy shop moved into the Italian Catholic neighborhood, with his rowhouse abutting the church, and right off made a noise complaint with the city to make the 150-year-old church stop ringing the bells. “Someone” took care of it—one entire side of his new BMW suffered a back-to-front key scratch, both fenders and two doors. (That was before everybody got ring cameras). Next thing you know, sale sign.
People can be so dumb.
Concur with the majority.......I joined because it was advertised as only within my subdivision, but found out the local version includes every neighborhood in the area, so most of the stuff in there doesn’t apply. I have commented maybe twice, mostly concerning a stray cat that inhabits our cul-de-sac (he’s my little buddy). Judging by the email notices I get, it’s not worth actually opening the app.

I know of a person who moved into a home. The dog got loose while they were moving stuff. The dog went across the street and pooped in a neighbors yard unbeknownst by that person. The neighbor was ticked off and let that person know about it. Supposedly they got along after that.
You should have told them you’re a handicapped Muslim black tranny lesbian.
