I joined Nextdoor to see if there were any good deals I could find, also to stay informed about local issues.
Instead of a normal community, I found a bunch of wrinkled psychotic Karens. I made a joke or two and immediately was set upon by some sociopath chick who told me (publicly and privately in Nextdoor email) that I needed mental health help, and that I was a very evil, very bad person. She called me every name in the book, and ranted at me for about two pages of insane text.
I reported this crazy lady using the Report feature, and asked her politely never to contact me again.
The next time I tried to log on, I found I was banned.
Nexrtdoor.com is a ghetto version of the old Twitter, with banning policies that have absolutely no consistency or reason, and who is populated by shrill psychotic old ladies looking for a reason -- any reason -- to jump you.
Or in our case, testify against them. Twice
Women sit around on social media and pass judgement re: stupid and irrelevant crap.
If only we could channel that level of social pressure into productive and self preservative ways.
I don’t remember what the offense was the got me banned but I had a lot of fun once when some sheep from a HOA area posted to ask what color she was allowed to paint her door.
I replied “This is America, paint it whatever color you want.”
Hilarity ensued among the Karen class.
I have a neighbor who cut his dogs loose. One of them would come over and threaten me. I solved it by cleaning out the cats litter pans of poop and throwing it under a magnolia tree between our houses. That dog was in Tootsie Roll heaven but it has a wicked gaseous effect.
I live near Aberdeen Proving Ground. I enjoyed the idiots complaining about the bombs going off all day.
Gee, sorry you didn’t do any research before you bought your house.
LOL!
“Because you think you have an IQ worth calling yourself smart, while your family members supporting Biden are stupid.”
But they’re quite successful and have above average IQs, so supporting or not supporting Biden doesn’t correlate with IQ very much.
And you know very well that, sadly, there are plenty of high IQ very successful people who support the Rats policies. The majority of billionaire CEOs, college professors, students, etc.
And yes, I have some in my family and I in my mispent youth registered as Democrat.
An explanation for this is that there is a component other than IQ that determines your political leanings. You have high IQ and low IQ people throughout the political spectrum.
I think the component that determines your political leaning is more a function of how susceptible you are to emotional manipulation and being guilted.
Women and young people are particularly susceptible to it and thus vote democrat in large number.
What I find interesting and puzzling with all the libs I know is that in their private lives they generally are as conservative as I am. They work hard, teach their kids to be responsible, pay the bills, save, etc. You probably have noticed the same thing.
But when it comes to voting, the difference is like night and day. And I think it comes from I mentioned - that they’re much more susceptible to emotional manipulation - they fall for all the sob stories.
It’s what I call “pathological compassion”. The type that destroys the receiver, the giver and the broader society.
See my tag line.
I agree with you. I stop using it a few years ago.
Too funny! The rats, young and old, truly are a neurotic psychotic bunch who really should be in an asylum for the protection of the general public and themselves.
You don’t dare talk politics on that site. They’re all liberals.
Ex-Lax covered in bacon grease. Sure-fire remedy!
I'll put that up on Nextdoor to see what happens. I'm sure the Karens will love that too.
My NextDoor generally consists of the following:
1. Every hard luck story in the book, with people asking for money or other support.
2. Selling stuff or soliciting business, i.e., someone bakes and sells cakes and pies.
3. Asking for service recommendations for everything - car and home repair, handymen, etc.
4. Lost pets.
5. Complaining about local politicians and city/county issues.
6. Suspicious person notifications, usually with Ring camera video.
7. Asking about police activity seen in the area, i.e., why are all these police cars at XYZ location?
8. Coyote and snake sightings.
9. Graduation, birthday and other personal announcements.
Success with money does not correlate to IQ.
That’s right, that’s why there are as many rich people with an IQ of 80 as there are with an IQ of 120.
What are you smoking? Whatever it is, I suggest you give it up.
10. b*tching about neighbor’s dog pooping in yard and not cleaning it up.
11. Neighbor’s dog barking all hours of the night.
12. Asking for job.
I had a similar experience.
A guy was harassing my on posted threads and via private messages.
He wanted to know my shoe size, which he felt would conclusively prove that he was smarter than me.
I got banned for using abusive language in a private message back to him.
Probably a good thing because I had found his home address and was ready show him my shoes.
Yes, they plat the neighborhood lots and then try to find an email associated with it. That becomes the “invitation” tool.
I find it extremely invasive.
You must be right, because Hunter and his dad are very smart, because they have a lot of money.
Could it me, Laz, that you signed up to a site with a closely sounding name: NextWhore?
Bttt.
