On the back of COVID-related production delays and massive Hollywood strikes, the next 12 months will be a strange mix of long-awaited content and out-of-the-blue oddities. More than half of last year’s list has yet to appear, so there is likely to be a lot of interesting film and TV to come.
I’m ignoring most of the big franchise stuff as it has recently proved to be utterly disappointing. Instead, we have lots of strange, creative and original work to look forward to including an apocalypse musical, an android exploring human emotions, and a story about a clone who lives forever.

What’s the over/under on first appearance of a gratuitous sodomite in each one?
Civil War sounds like woke nonsense. Pass.
The Dune Prequel also sounds promising.
Don’t get your hopes up too high.
Hollywood has a way of destroying good sci-fi novels.
I eagerly awaited the movie ‘Timeline’, from a 1999 novel by Michael Crichton, only to find that they had made it into a love story and basically just used the title.
Carl Sagan’s ‘Contact’ was a great novel. The movie starring Jodie Foster was unrecognizable..............

Loved the book Timeline. When they find the professors glasses in the crypt… wow!
Yes, the book was exciting. THE MOVIE NOT SO MUCH.............

I have read all of the prequels and hope they don’t screw it up.........................but I know they will............
Compare Starship Troopers by Robert Heinlein with Starship Troopers by Paul Verhoeven ....
(Bharf ...)
Yep, they just used the title and the author’s name and made up their own movie...........
I’ve enjoyed apple TV’s adaptation of Azimov’s Foundation books as a series. There have been 2 seasons so far. A little woke but generally good.
Lord of the Rings - The War of the Rohirrim!
The new Ghostbusters is coming out with thecast from Ghostbusters Afterlife. Preview looked preety good

Same for “The Expanse”
The two attempts to do Felipe Jose Farmer’s Riverworld are prime examples of the failure of the Hollyweird crowd to do SciFi. Both attempts were utterly atrocious!
The movie “Yellow Pages” on the other hand was much much better than the book.
