Obama is one boomer who took over the entire student loan industry.

Too few children? We were nonstop propagandized about over population by our teachers and politicians ... All members of the “Greatest Generation’s. Spare me. None of them fought a thankless war.
We were/are THE smallest "generation" and now get lumped into two different generation, which makes NO sense at all!
Unlike a lot of the BOOMERS, we weren't raised using Dr. Spock, nor did we live through any part of the GREAT DEPRESSION. And some of this generation gave birth to late BOOMERS, while some had Gen Xers.
Named generations is a very NEW thing and people keep changing dates and names and trying to set one group against another. This is not only STUPID, but MARXIST/COMMIE crap.
I am a boomer who retired.
I think it took them three people to replace me.
;-)
It’s hit and miss with the so-called “greatest generation.” That goes for anyone, boomers included. There were great people among the WW2 generation. They were also full of alcoholics who beat the hell out of their children and cheated on their wives. Listen to the common country songs of their time.
The other side sucks...
I worked 50 years and paid $500+ K into social security. If I had earned a modest 5% on the accumulated sum I would have $1.5 M banked, earning ~$75 K a year. In its place I get ~$3 K a month from SS. Cry me a river ya GenXYZ whiners.
Sounds like the truth to me. I was "reorganized" out of my last job, over a disagreement over QuickBooks online. I was handling books for 4 companies on QB Desktop with no issues.
The owner was sold on QBO, as if it would give her everything she needed with a couple of clicks. Nice people, but they were just wrong.
I was hired at a large real estate concern 3 weeks later, been there 16 months. Have worked more overtime than I ever did at a CPA firm. 55-60 hour weeks are the norm. I'll hang in there as long as I can, but I turn 70 in a few months.
Through the miracle of Linked In, I learned my previous company had to hire 3 accountants to replace me.
I'm one of the younger boomers WHO has NOT retired and they can't afford to replace me because I ASKED for a pay cut to keep my income from being taxed further, while I continue to do a top notch performance level of my job.
Very much a "BENEFICIAL" situation for BOTH sides, I'd say.
And you're right about replacement. The folks I work for already said it would take the hiring of TWO new people to replace me if I did leave.
In my opinion.. RETIRING is for OLD people.. and besides, I need a reason to get out of bed every morning!
I NEED them and they NEED me.. win-win!
The pretty lies of socialism will not deliver those beautiful things.
Gen Z will volunteer to be enslaved in exchange for those promises. Most will never understand why their lives keep getting worse.
“boomers scream about how they are owed social security, “
It was our money to start with before “they” forced us to give it to them. We ARE “owed” Social Security, because it’s OURS.
>> Boomers are full of it.
Yep, full of CASH!!! Lots of it bwahahahaha!!! And PROPERTY! Which we own FREE AND CLEAR!!! I get free medicare ‘n all the prescription drugz I can swallow! I spend my monthly social security check on golf clubs and tenderloin. (Did I mention I just got a raise?? LOL! You’re paying it!)
(Stirring the pot with a BLENDER!!! A really nice one that I got with my social security check this month!!! :) :) :) LOLZ)
No, you are not
You were lied to.
That is my point.
By law, SS is not “your money”. Hasn’t been for a long time.
It is all dumped in to the general fund, and was spent before it landed there.
Don’t worry. They will print more money to cover the debt owed you. Which means rather horrible things.
And now for the truth.
I am past “full” social security age.
I still work full time at my own business. That means I’m still PAYING IN to SS.
I have not yet signed up to draw SS.
I am “on” Medicare, but so far I am a net CONTRIBUTOR — I pay a monthly charge for the privilege of “having” medicare, and I have never used a dime of benefit.
I am debt free, because I kept my ass WORKING my entire life and have always lived within my means.
So let’s give that ol’ pot another stir...
Since the generations that followed mine have a significantly higher percentage of deadbeat losers who can’t raise the kids they created, and therefore must live off (or WITH) their boomer parents/grandparents, I know for a fact that there are a LOT!!! of boomers like me who are still working full time so their slacker kids/grandkids can have a nice life.
Another reason lots of boomers are working well past retirement age is that so many in the following generations never actually learned to do anything productive in society. Society only needs so many rappers and influencers.
Mind you, I feel blessed to be working still, and harbor no general ill will towards the generations that followed mine. I sincerely pray they get the hell off the path they have set America on so that Americans do not become slaves to either domestic tyrants or a foreign power. That outcome is looking more likely by the hour...
Just want to make sure you got that I was joking.
>> Just want to make sure you got that I was joking.
I figured you were joking. So was I, the first reply. No offense taken at all. FRegards.
I agreed. They paid the price. At the same time, they lucked out. It could have been a lot worse. The Soviets bled for us at Stalingrad.
This kid is going to end up in a Red Chi Com gulag. As they take his internal organs, he’ll be screaming, damn you boomers!
Yup. It was never your money once the government stole it from you. It's just another tax with a different name on it. I crack up at how socialistic otherwise 'conservatives' can be when you mention 'social security.
I’m never going to retire!
