Yes, ‘HistoryLegends’ does a commendable job with his analysis of the war and related overall situation. He ties together events over a period of time so his audience can better TRULY understand what’s going on. And he inserts occasional bits of humor in a respectful manner to relieve the endless ugliness and grimness of war.

For DAILY TACTICAL coverage of events, I find ‘Military Summary’ to be comprehensive and objective.

I also follow a number of the sites that “Rev Mom” posts although their slanting can be annoying at times.

Thank for linking the latest AGITPROP. :)

The term ‘AGITPROP’ or using the political slogans and half-truths were specific to the Marxism practiced by communists in the Soviet Union. Originally, the label was a shortened term Propaganda Section of the Central Committee Secretariat of the Communist Party’ in the Soviet Union.

Today, AGITPROP is just the modernization of this same political strategy. Often, found within public forums and chat-rooms. The distractors, detractors, and repeaters just apply the ‘agitation and propaganda’ techniques in their attempt to influence public opinion.]

“You provided facts unfavorable to the Putinista narrative. So you must be a “globalist neo-con”.”

Thanks I needed that! 😆

Now off to wrap some Christmas gifts.

“MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN”

This message would be more appropriately aimed at the drunken Russian military. The “handwriting on the wall,” serves as a reminder that whatever we sow, that we will also reap (Galatians 6:7–8).

God is the Judge; He justly weighs all matters and metes out retribution in His time

Olena Zelenska Foundation greeted all foster families in Ukraine as part of the ‘Christmas at the Doorstep’ initiative
23 December 2023 - 17:30
https://www.president.gov.ua/en/news/fundaciya-oleni-zelenskoyi-v-mezhah-iniciativi-rizdvo-na-por-87969

Olena Zelenska Foundation, on the eve of Christmas, greeted all foster and big foster families in Ukraine. Ukrainian and international companies contributed to this effort. Thanks to their collaboration, over 3,100 families with over 13,000 children across the country simultaneously received gifts on December 23.

“Today, even during the war, every child, as always, awaits the Christmas miracle. Especially the children for whom a previously unfamiliar family has become their own,” the First Lady said.

Olena Zelenska personally visited a family in Kyiv region with gifts. The Foundation’s team visited this family as one of the first in the spring of 2022, at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Parents, Anatoliy and Iryna, have been raising children for over 10 years. Since the creation of the foster family, 14 children have lived in it.

“On December 23, Ukrainian celebrities became Christmas St. Nicholases for families across the country: Dmytro Monatik visited families in Kharkiv region, while Volodymyr Dantes greeted a family in Kyiv region. Dmytro Komarov paid a visit to a family in Galicia, Oleksiy Zavhorodniy visited a family in Cherkasy, and Yuriy Tkach and Yevhen Koshovyi together visited two families in Dnipro.

Director of the Foundation Nina Horbachova, jointly with the team, greeted two families in Kharkiv region.

“This project proved to be quite a challenge for the Foundation’s team. Organizing such a large-scale campaign for children in wartime conditions is not easy. But we managed to give the children a holiday! Thanks to our partners from different countries around the world who supported this initiative and sent gifts to our children,” the Foundation’s Director, Nina Horbachova, said.

Gifts were collected jointly with partners over three months. The Christmas sets include Christmas trees, decorations, construction toy sets, puzzles, stationery, creative kits, various toys, sweets, and books for the whole family. Collaboration became possible thanks to Ukraine’s embassies and honorary consuls in Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Austria, Germany, and Türkiye.

“The project partner, Nova Poshta, provided their putting together, festive packaging, and courier delivery of holiday sets throughout Ukraine. Within two months, the company received gifts from the Foundation’s partners from different parts of the world and put them together into festive sets. On December 23, couriers all over Ukraine delivered bright Christmas parcels to the doorstep of each foster family.

The Foundation’s team expresses gratitude to all the partners who contributed to the implementation of the “Christmas at the Doorstep” project: Nova Poshta Group of Companies, Epicenter K, Ukrainian Food Bank Federation, Burgenland federal state, The LEGO Foundation, Toms Group, Carletti A/S, DSV A/S, Netcompany-Intrasoft A/S, Room2Play, Leg & idé, MOTTO, Vestergaard Group, SNCF, La région Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, La Région Normandie, BIC, Le Petit Prince, Stellantis, FC Rennes, Loacker, Billa, Handelsverband, FC Bayern München AG, Deutscher Verband der Spielwarenindustrie e.V., Sav-Orbico, Perfetti Van Melle, TOBB, HARIBO Türkiye, and Turkish Football Federation.

Imagine you have to stay all day outside in below-zero temperatures. Now, what if it’s not a day but a week? And not in a town, but out in the woods or an open field? The war in Ukraine continues, and the frost that comes to the trenches cannot be ignored. How not to freeze when a war takes place in winter, and how does cold influence combat?

For those who feel wounded by my use of the term “Putinista” or my derision, please be advised that life is not black and white, and is certainly not well-ordered into good guys and bad guys, whose identities are easily discernable. So, speaking of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, it was not due to any of the “reasons” provided in your narrow-minded narrative. If it was because Ukraine wanted to join NATO, and NATO indicated it might entertain that possibility, which might become a reality in ten or twenty years, then why hasn’t Putin invaded Finland (beyond the eastern portion that Russia has occupied since the 1940s). If it’s because he believed that the West wants to carve up his country for its mineral wealth, that was not only possible, but extremely doable in 1991, when the Soviet Union collapsed. But the West instead tried to help the moribund former super power, unsuccessfully.

Putin should be given kudos, for when he relieved Yeltsin of his responsibilities, which he was not up to, due to incompetence and drunkenness, he managed to right the Russian ship of state for a long time. But that was then. This is now. And Putin has become more and more overbearing and dictatorial over the two decades of his rule. In February of 2021, he attacked Ukraine, not V. Zelensky, because he thought it was easy and he felt he could. So did the West. He had this giant, well-equipped military, which everyone thought would make short work of Ukraine, whose President he took for a lightweight, and so did the West. When instead Zelensky did his impression of Churchill, and the Ukrainians rallied and fought back courageously and with ingenuity and determination, The West was embarrassed into helping Ukraine. Sh!t happens sometimes.

A word about the Eastern provinces. Ukrainians are married to Russians everywhere in Ukraine, going back generations. Russian is spoken interchangeably with Ukrainian in many places, including VZ’s home town. VZ himself is a native-speaker of Russian, toured Russia with his comedy troupe, and recorded Sluga Narodu (Servant of the People) mostly in Russian. There is a dense Russian-speaking population in these Eastern provinces. Unfortunately, in part due to Putin’s instigations, and also due to friction between the native-speakers of both languages in that region, civil war erupted and Putin stoked it for eight years, shortly after successfully instigating the “secession” of Crimea, and bragging about how he managed to engineer a fake secession movement to bring that about. Rather than negotiate in good faith a peace in the Eastern provinces with Ukraine’s new President, he chose to invade.

A word about Crimea. It was once part of the Greek empire (pagan), once part of the Khazar empire (Jewish), once part of the Czarist empire (Orthodox), once part of the Soviet Union (communist). It’s contiguous to Ukraine, has been part of Ukraine before, lately was part of Russia, and is now contested territory between Russia and Ukraine. Really, it’s never been Russian, but after Stalin forcibly relocated the Tartars and their families, he made it into a playground for Soviet citizens in between ten-year sentences to hard labor. Over time, the Tartars came back. They are back. The Russian fleet is gone from Sebastopol, and life goes on.

The war in Ukraine is neither being won nor lost at the moment, which itself is a triumph. Russia expected an easy cakewalk, and they instead are stuck fighting a weaker but more determined opponent in the Ukrainian people almost two years in.

Recently, our country was invaded by crazed savages. We are in the process of ending said crazed savages’ reign of terror over the Gazans. We’re winning. They have us outgunned in the UN, but not on the ground. We’re a tiny country, but we know how to fight. Almost two years ago, Ukraine, a big country, was attacked by its giant neighbor. Unsurpringly, Russia is not a pushover. Surprisingly, neither is Ukraine, though the surprise has not aged well.

I’m no neo-con or globalist, but as a citizen of a tiny country that just got invaded, I am rooting for the invaded country over the invading country. I am also rooting for America to beat back its invaders and restore sovereignty over its borders. I’m also an American and plan to vote for Trump via absentee ballot.

But for G-d’s sake, get an attention span. Land wars take blood, sweat, tears and time, and they’re about the people who are being hurt by it on both sides, not their Presidents. The American Civil War took four years. WW I took four years. WW II took about six. And so on and so forth. Israel managed to win a multi-front war in six days. That’s the exception that proves the rule. Ukraine will take time, and mountains of bodies and ruined cities and land. No way out except through.

Also part of the Tartar empire, I forgot. Also, there are Ukrainians and Russians married to one another throughout Russia as well.

Actually very few of the millions of foreigners who are trying to get in are unfriendky. Many are like 3 of my grandparents, they just want to become part of our country. Unfortunately, there are some who are unfriendly and even worse. Whether it is drug cartel people or potential spys and worse for Russia and Iran, the very high rate of illegal border crossings makes proper screening for such people much harder.

Never the less, I am still glad that America is the country people want to escape into, rather than one of the countries people are trying so hard to escape out of, like Russia, Iran, North Korea, and Venezuela. I also worry that Putin has been encouraging a few of his people, and some from his friendly counties to join this immigrations flow to poison our democracy and growth.

Merry Christmas to all, and may we remain the home of the brave and the land of the free.
