Well, I’m a Buddhist so I’ll spare the forum the outlandish esoteric Eastern view of the consequences of suicide.
(spoiler; it ain’t good)
But I will say that charging someone $25k to off them is an outrageously unethical scam. Something I’d expect of the Bidens or Clintons. It makes me think Switzerland should look to Canaduh for some moral guidance.
And since AC/DC was brought up earlier on the thread I’ll leave this here ...
Just ring: 3-6, 2-4, 3-6. I’m always home. Call me anytime. :)
Reminds of the scene in Soylent Green where Edward G. Robinson’s character goes to the suicide center to die, they give him drugs and show him a special film to aid him in dying. Morbid in a way!
Techology and medicine can keep a dying person alive for years. That's more cruel than Eskimos putting their granny out to drift on an ice flow for bears to eat.
Is refusal of that technology and medicine an act if suicide? I should think not, but once a hospital admits you, you've lost your own choices many times. Death becomes a long costly matter of fact while machines and technology have you like a death cage.
This right here. Thank you.
FWIW a person with stage 4 cancer is in the same position as that wounded doe in the creek.
That said, I think suicide is an extremely bad choice.
I agree with you. I’ve had one friend kill himself because he couldn’t stand the pain of cancer anymore. I refuse to judge him or anyone else in a similar situation.
More like 10k they charge there is also a one way ticket and accommodation included + loved ones. I think they charter a plane.
The biggest miracle of modern medicine is its ability to keep anyone technically alive up until the minute the patient runs out of money.
Suicide is wrong and a sin.
But only unbelief in Christ as redeemer is unpardonable and leads to eternal death.
God bless you, Nan.
I disagree. No one should be allowed to accept payment for killing somebody.
If one wants to die there are many ways to achieve it without involving others.
“I will say that charging someone $25k to off them is an outrageously unethical scam.”
Agreed—makes street fentanyl dealers seem honorable by comparison....
“no chance of redemption and forgiveness of this mortal sin”
Some folks are in such pain and bad enough health that they are willing to take the chance you are wrong.
Life (and death) is risk.
God bless you. Your post is beautiful and very touching.
With segments of "Peer Gynt" and Beethoven's "Pastoral." As a 13-year-old in the movie theatre, I found that very touching!
Regards,
It is tough. A friend of mine chose “death with dignity” in Oregon. He was in severe pain with incurable cancer and decided to take the drug cocktail which killed him. Is it suicide if he decided it with a clear mind knowing full well he would suffer a very painful death? Are we obligated by God to suffer physical a debilitating pain knowing the only relief we will have is be ending this life? I don’t know. Was it suicide for the people to jump out of the twin towers on 9-11-2001 rather than burn to death? Were they obligated to face the fire and burn to death? This is a philosophical and religious discussion above my pay grade.
As for the cost.... Just go for a drive in Chicago or Baltimore.

I will assume you are speaking of “Once saved always saved”
St. James, in his epistle, gives the example of an erring believer and how he can be brought back: “Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins” (James 5:19-20). “Any of you”! Note again that he is talking to people who are of the flock. If a Christian errs from the truth and is converted, the good man who helps him reaps these spiritual benefits.
James was speaking of someone already in Christ. So, why would a person already saved need to be saved from death, if once save always saved?
Even cheaper: a whipped cream dispenser with a cartridge of NO2 (nitrous oxide, “laughing gas”), a large plastic bag and a length of duct tape. Probably more fun too...
